  1. Exactly people are shanking the dagger into Mikel's back after one poor performance whilst conveniently being oblivious that his midfield partner was and has been poor. The quicker we get Lampard out of the starting 11 in the CM/DM role the better.
  2. Because being wrong by 1 makes whole lot of difference. Cahill is and always will be midtable fodder. There's a reason why our defence has been a complete cluster-fuck in the last few months.
  3. Absolutely agree. I said that yesterday. We could play with a higher line with quicker CBs in there.
  4. Except for the number of interceptions he made. He anticipated and sniffed out a few of their counter attack attempts.
  5. I thought he was our best player but no one really stood out. My only criticism of him is that he needs to get on the ball more. He's got everything.
  6. A midfield of Mikel and Lampard just does not have any impetus or drive. John wasn't bad but not what we needed today.
  7. Very harsh to give him a mere 10 minute cameo whilst we were playing in second gear, there was nothing he could have done really.
  8. He did well in the first 20 minutes but there was a moment in the 41st minute where he went down after a challenge and touched his ankle for a bit, then limped for a minute or two before the half time whistle. Perhaps he still had a bit of a niggle even before the game.
  9. I thought he had a good game tonight, granted no one stood out as we cruised it in second gear, but he certainly looked crisp again. I wonder if we could play him alongside Luiz at CB as they're both quick so we could play a higher line with Cole at LB and Cesar at RB, especially against the smaller sides so we could press them even higher up the pitch.
  10. Straight back into the first 11 where he belongs. Is there a quicker/faster CB than him at the moment?
  11. 3 points in the bag really. We'll maul them regardless of who plays. I would keep David Luiz in the side as he was immaculate tonight on the ball. Cahill should be nowhere near the first 11 after the way he's "performed" in the last few months.
  12. Markie was solid, commanding and assertive. I've always liked him as a player, and I'm glad he's now with us. Admittedly he didn't have to do much throughout the match but he did well when called upon, especially his ball distribution. I think he could still have a one or two seasons on him.
  13. I agree, I just think we would look a lot less pedestrian without him in midfield. But my point was not just about today, but since the start of the season.
  14. Typical cruise control match. Job done after 90 minutes, lights out, get ready for the next one.
  15. Ash had a decent game tonight, one or two nervy moments in the first half but overall he was solid.
  16. My favourites were Nathan, Auro and Boschilia. But I could just see Mosquito becoming a monster of a striker in 2 or 3 years. But yeah, Nathan could be Ballon d'Or winner if he reaches his full potential from what I saw of him. I started watching these youth tournaments a few years back because of Tim Vickery, and they're great to give us a look into the new generation of footballers of tomorrow, especially when you watch the likes of Brazil, Spain and Argentina as they put great emphasis on their youth systems.
  17. I would love to ask Mourinho why he plays Lampard literally every game. There is no other manager in world football who would be doing that. I would also love to see us play without him in 5 consecutive games to see how we'd fare.
  18. I agree in principle but he was in desperate need of a rest. The buck stops with Mourinho, who pulled the plug on a CM deal during the summer.
  19. He's starting tonight. That means we're definitely bringing in a world-class player in January. So Ramires can form a proper partnership in midfield.
  20. I think Frankie will start tonight, maybe in a 4-3-3.
  21. He's the new Diego Costa in the making. I watched a few u17 World Cup games and he caught the eye along with the midfielders Nathan and Boschilia and the right back Auro. There were a few Nigerian and Mexican players who I'd look into as well. If we bought him, he'd go straight to Vitesse.
  22. I have a feeling we will fucking trounce them.
  23. I fucking like all 6 of them. Although, sadly, six AMs might just be one too many. They are the least of our problems. We need a CM/DM, a CB, and a top class CF, in that order.
  24. I'm fond of him. I picked him to be my loanee watch of the season and I have not been disappointed. Whether he'll make it here or not, only time will tell.
