  1. Just because they both played well in the same game does not necessarily mean they'd have to develop identically. They don't even play in the same position I don't think; Chalobah's future belongs at centre half. Ours is a great player to be, the other is a great player now in his own merit.
  2. Sounds somebody is itching to get a Redcafe account... As for us selling a major asset to United, never gonna happen. Kevin is staying with us, if he goes, it will be on a swap deal for Pogba or on loan in January so he can get definite playing time.
  3. I just don't get this talent cannibalism we see here sometimes, how about we just cherish and enjoy both players as they are both wonderful talents in their own ways?
  4. I would love to see Pogba alongside Ramires as our midfield duo in January. We need a DM more than any other position, and he would be a mint addition.
  5. I've no doubt JT will be given another year, he's playing well, the only drawback with him in the side is that we have to play a little deeper to compensate for his lack of pace, he is still fairly agile when it comes to tackling though. As for Frankie I think this is his last season with us, he's nearly 36 and will be leaving on a high. The signs are there, we are being linked with CM/ DMs a lot lately, Marseille's Imbula being one.
  6. Downer... We're looking at 2 weeks off at least aren't we?
  7. Someone who has the right to have an opinion. As for Romelu, he will be on fire with us next season,
  8. Hence "decent", the goals will come.
  9. In fairness I think Eto'o has been quite decent so far, he's much quicker than I thought he would be at this stage. He only needs to calibrate his finishing as his positioning, link up play and work rate have been really good. Another important observation I've made of him is that I always see him with his arms around our attacking players, talking and teaching them a thing or two. The irony is that Lukaku would probably be the one would who would gain the most from Eto'o's footballing lectures but he's on loan.
  10. I can't fecking wait to watch us play again. I think we might even go full strength on this one, most of our lads on International duty will be back by Wednesday, as the game is on Saturday, there's plenty of time to rest and sharpen up for the match. Although as I was thinking earlier we could rest a few for our CL match as well.
  11. I think Frankie is a handsome fella myself but that's going a little too far.
  12. He's gonna be our German engine. He's not as technical as our other AMs but he is still very effective. A great card to have up our sleeves.
  13. He looked frightening today, Mourinho is making him a very very tough lad to play against. Never mind row z, he'll boot it out of the stadium if he needs to now.
  14. I think Ryan will be starting a few games for us while we rest Ashley for the tougher CL and PL games. Hopefully he's fully fit and firing in all cylinders come next weekend.
  15. I agree with you that Jose knows what he is doing, that's why we have 2 or 3 January targets for one of the pivots. Lampard should get minutes in a more advanced position as that's where his strengths are.
  16. Great composure, positioning and quick feet for his goal, left foot finish to boot as well. No injuries for any of our boys.
  17. I'm watching the game. South Korea changed their tactics a little bit for this game, they are less fluid and more defensive than usual and are chopping people down left, right and centre; especially Neymar. A bit like Ghana in the past World Cups, a very good group of players, but set up far too aggressively. It's a very cagey game, Oscar is doing well so far but you can see the players are reluctant to stick their foot in.
  18. Very good points raised. I would also add that Mikel does not quite fit the position he's played at Chelsea, he is much more assertive when allowed to go forward with someone like an Essien in his prime shielding the defence alongside him in midfield. But in order for him to play in that role for Chelsea he would have to displace Ramires, Lampard which is not happening under Mourinho - especially as long as Ramires is fit to play. So whenever he plays,he plays as the deeper, holding player instead, which does not help his cause. I still think he is a very good player that should be playing more minutes for us.
  19. I think the problem people have with Mikel is that he plays in a position that's occupied by a Chelsea legend, so they look at it sentimentally rather than objectively.
  20. A Chelsea fan who wants the best for the club, especially performance wise.
  21. As he is at Wembley tonight, I hope Jose is watching Lampard's performance closely.
  22. The reason Mourinho did not buy a CM/CM/DLP is because Lampard got another 12 months. We are now* apparently keen to rectify that decision by signing Marseille's Imbula in January, a player we have been chasing for quite a while.
  23. My bad again, I still don't think he's ready for the Premier League yet. He should stay with Zola.
  24. I hope he'll be fit in two week's time, he was needing a bit of a rest anyway.
