  1. Unlucky for Schurrle, he was getting better and better lately, on the bright side it seems to be just a minor injure which means he'll only miss one game I assume. As for tomorrow's team selection, I considered the option of resting players but I'm not sure Jose will, given that their last game was on Tuesday - and some only played 45 minutes - and they had a day off on Wednesday and the game being on Saturday that would be plenty of time to be in top physical condition I think. But I'd love to see Willian start though, I think he's earned it with his involvement in the few minutes he played against Norwich.
  2. Nah, we desperately need a DM/CM, more than any other position I'd say.
  3. I get that, but he would give us the protection we have been lacking at the back and consequently he would also provide a bit more freedom for our attacking midfielders to work their magic.
  4. I'd love to have him as an understudy to JT but not at 40 mil, Marquinhos who is -albeit a different sort of defender - the better talent went for less than that.
  5. Does anyone think Jose will play him from the start against Cardiff?
  6. I can't wait to see his first goal for us, it's gonna happen soon.
  7. And he has been scoring goals lately, I think he'll be a number nine within two years. As of now I'm just happy he's getting playing time week in week out.
  8. That's unfortunately true, in the first two yards he's fine, but anything longer than that he's been struggling a little. Maybe he's not fully fit yet after spending two years on a footballing sabbatical
  9. He played as a centre forward when I first saw him for Brazil's under 17s, he was great at it. He did have a Suarez like partner next to him though can't remember his name.
  10. Eto'o looks rather quick to me, he surprised me with his acceleration off the mark, but obviously he's not as fast as he used to be. He blends in very well with our attacking players, dropping deep, going wide, playing little triangle passes. But, do we want that or a Ba up front as a point of reference like our last match, or somebody who can give us both like Torres?
  11. He looks really sharp in training and is also pumped up confidence wise due to the wonder goal he bagged in our last game, I think Cardiff at home is the perfect scenario to unleash him.
  12. But that's the dilemma, we just cannot slip up on this one, therefore resting players could end up being a bit of a banana skin. I'd like to see Willian start though.
  13. He's been a lot less involved off the ball whenever I saw him playing lately. Always oozed talent though.
  14. Today's Sneijder wouldn't come close to making our bench. After that treble winning campaign for Inter under Jose his work rate went down hill exponentially, not to mention the amount of injuries he has had since. A great player and a joy to watch at his best, but no thanks.
  15. I was thinking just that, well playing KDB or Oscar in the Pivot, that is. And Eto'o as our CF. I just don't see Mourinho trying it, but it would be nice seeing us play with Ramires plus a metronome deep lying playmaker against minnows we should be steam-rolling - although I am aware they beat City.
  16. Nice little poacher's finish by Juan. We now have a plethora of inform midfielders.
  17. Yet another of ours who excelled on the international stage. Boss from Andre.
  18. Neat footwork from Michael, I wanna see him getting some minutes alongside Ramires.
  19. Yes, I remember reading something on The Guardian or something, articles from the last five days or so.
  20. I think you're overreacting with your pessimism. Has it not crossed your mind that people who thought it was a great goal did not notice it took a deflection before it went in? I saw it a few times to be really sure it did myself. And I know Zambia are not world beaters but they did win the Africa Cup of Nations in 2012, surely that means something, does it not?
  21. According to reputable UK papers (no tabloids), we are being linked with Pogba and Imbula, both DM/CM/ Box-to-box type players, which can only be a good thing.
  22. Exactly, Oscar has been scoring left, right and centre, and playing* extremely well also. Let the lad be.
  23. Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are beyond world-class, especially Messi. I can't for the life of me see how this discussion got so derailed.
