Yeah that's true and fair enough. I'm thinking of it from a selfish (Chelsea) point of view.

The proposed changes don't seem too bad to me. According to the article the top 4 leagues (England, Spain, Germany, Italy) would be guaranteed 4 teams in the group stages. Of these, 3 will be those that finished in the top 3 of the respective leagues and the 4th will be the team with the highest UEFA coefficient ranking. For England then, since our ranking is greater than fourth-placed City's we'd have been replacing them this year. In the graphic below, green shows teams in the top 50 that qualified for the group stages this year under current rules and blue shows missing teams who would've qualified under the new rules (obviously at the expense of other teams like us with City).

Matt Law does sometimes have "exclusive" information (e.g. with the Kanté signing) but most of the time he just rehashes existing rumours from Di Marzio (and other big sources) as well as from other seemingly random or unreliable sources, as with the line about Rodriguez and Lichtsteiner. I wouldn't take him as a gospel for Chelsea news.

Hopefully we don't hear any BS about attitude or spirit after this one.

The bit about lying reminds me of his Balotelli story. It turns out that Eto'o was fit and played the full 90 minutes, and that Balotelli wasn't sent off until the 61st minute . I know we've all exaggerated stories before but Mourinho is such a bullshitter it's funny.

Right so Mourinho made Ivanovic his most untouchable player, refused to drop him despite consecutively awful performances, called him one of Chelsea's best ever signings amongst other heavy public praise... But it was only because he had no other option for the fullback positions and in reality he didn't really rate him. Got it.
