I can't help but laugh when people say they wouldn't want Simeone because he's too similar to Mourinho and Conte. The Argentine is so far ahead that his only match is Guardiola.

If Ivanovic starts the next match then at least we'll know where we stand with Conte. I fear this will be the case and we'll have been lumbered with yet another manager who comes from the school of thought that prioritises "balls, attitude, fighters" and other such overly emotional nonsense instead of developing a technically and tactically strong eleven. I hope I'm wrong.

Anyone know if Conte used to press high against the bigger teams when he was at Juve? I was really surprised by yesterday's approach given how much he talks about intensity.

In hindsight selling KDB was a mistake but things like that can happen. The real problem was the lack of a buy-back clause. At least the board seem to have learnt their lesson with the Thorgan Hazard sale.

Tactically speaking he's not a fraud but it seems that he might not be as good as we were hoping for either. Tonight felt like a CL game and we all know what his CL record is like.

I thought Conte was tactically a lot better than this. So disappointing.

Poor Mourinho. Why must he always be the one whose players ignore their manager's genius instructions, whose players cannot make simple passes under pressure and whose players cannot cope with the 'dimension of the game'? So unfortunate.
