I think that after a trophyless season Jose is going all out next season, perhaps at the expense of long-term planning. Who can blame him when his job is potentially on the line? Fabregas, Tiago, Filipe Luis, Diego Costa are all players who can come in and do a job now.

£20m for Filipe Luis is also excessive though. Last season he was undoubtedly one of the best LBs in the world but he'll be 29 by the time next season comes around. How many seasons can he offer us at the highest level before he deteriorates and has no sell-on value? Not many I suspect.

Next season if we can't break a team down we will probably be relying on Hazard again for individual brilliance. Not saying that Costa is a bad player, but no-one there is on Hazard's level and like you say I don't think Costa can make something out of nothing like the best strikers. He's also bound to get himself suspended for large parts of the season!
