Found this on Mickey. Mickey Greenaway is probably the most famous Chelsea supporter. He was born in 1945 and raised in Billing Street, a shout away from Stamford Bridge. His adoptive father was a Chelsea fan and managed to get a young Mickey mascot for a match in the glorious 1954-55 season. Together with a few other like minded supporters, he got the Chelsea fans to meet and sing under the old corrugated steel roof shelter at the Fulham Road End, in an effort to help focus and amplify their songs and chants. They decided to name this construction "The Shed" and one of Mick's colleagues had a letter published in the Chelsea programme to this effect. Mickey introduced many songs including "One Man Went to Mow" to the Bridge supporters repertoire, but will always be remembered for his "Zigger Zagger". Sadly, following serious health problems, Mickey prematurely passed away in 1999. A legend.

And I know just the spot for her to pivot on

Out with a whimper and no bang!!!!!!!!! I really expected a backlash after midweek, but we have again shown that we cannot break down a packed defence. We also looked like a team bereft of confidence and just hoping for the season to end. Very poor display for our last home game of the season, but what it did achieve is that it has copperfastened the positions that need strengthening for next season.(Striker/s and creative central midfielder) I really feel sick to think of all the points we dropped against teams who are in the lower end of the table. But onwards and upwards for next season guys
-
Lets go out and win this one with a bit of flair. If we win we go top and, well, I can still dream I think Norwich may suffer a backlash from midweek and we will still be in it until the final day. But, if I have to I would even settle for finishing second behind Citeh and leave them scouse gits finishing third. Whingers and bad losers,

Which goal was Cahill to blame for? What did Schwarzer do that was so wrong? Our team was and is just what it is. Our players are human, therefore open to "human error". Nobody went out and gave anything less than 100% in my view. We were just beaten by a better side with better tactics on the night. Sometimes you just have to accept these things with good grace. It is an honour for me to even see Chelsea in a Champions League semi final. I remember Chelsea been beaten by teams like Scarborough many moons ago, so if you think last night was a disaster well you dont remember how far Chelsea have come in a very short space of time. And, we will get better and we will be back !!!!!!!!!!
-
That's it, you're dead right, Cahill will be sold off as he has been absolutely useless this season, Schwarzer never really wanted to play for Chelsea, it's a step-down in his career and he LET them score three tonight, as for the rest of the Chelsea team, well maybe we should sell them all because they gave us nothing this season. We have been a disgrace, beaten by a little Spanish team called Athletico, who just may go on to win the Spanish league as well as the European cup. Can you just not accept defeat gracefully?. On the night we were second best thats all. Leave the players alone, they played their hearts out to a man.
-
No complaints. We were beaten on the night by the better side. But I'm still proud of each and every Chelsea player. Perhaps if we had eleven Aspilequeta's we'd have won this game, the guy really gives his all for the club. Heads up Chelsea, we've still had a fantastic season. Norwich may prepare for the backlash.

I sat and watched the game yesterday and now after deep thought here's my verdict. 1. Chelsea were superb. 2. Liverpool were clueless 3. Liverpool may have had the lions share of possession, but that was only because we ALLOWED them that possession. 4.Chelsea didn't play an attacking game..... Why the fuck should we? That what tactics are for. Someone should tell Liverpool that teams are not obliged to play attacking football at Anfield and leave massive gaps at the back for them to exploit. 5.There are a lot of different types of tactics, some attacking and (this bit for Liverpool fans) some defensive. 6 Chelsea were denied a blatant penalty ( one which was far worse than the Suarez -Raphael one some weeks ago) 7 Chelsea had the better of the clear cut chances too.. Schurrle pulling off a great save from Minger (sorry) Mingolet. 8. We played two inexperienced centre backs and they totally owned Suarez. Kalas had a slowish start, but boy, how he grew into that game. 9. We had a TEAM out there, Liverpool had eleven individuals. 10. Liverpool never troubled us. They are a one dimensional team who only have one way of playing. And talk about whinging when you dont play like they want you to.!!!!!!!! Arrogant and naive, Big club my arse!!!!!!!! You had your chance at glory and blew it. We were the far more professional side yesterday and we even had the ref against us. 11. Finally I would fist of all like to thank out ex-striker for his sloppiness in giving the ball away for our second goal, and lastly.........All credit to Stevie G !!!!!!!What a player we didn't purchase there. Our cheapest ever signing who should be forever noted in our history for his own goal in the league cup final, his superb back pass to Drogba to give us the Premiership and yesterday for his poor ball control and allowing Demba to stroll in for our first goal and his amazing speed in trying to catch him up. P.S. Jose you are a tactical genius (but only against the big teams ) BUT I STILL LOVE YOU :blue scalf:
-
I agree, but on our day we too can be just as invincible..................... Would love to frustrate Gerrard and his buddies
-
Mourinho will field as strong a side as he possibly can, but one which will not affect Wednesday's team. No way will he want to be beaten by Liverpool, no matter who is managing them. There is way too much bad blood between the teams. And also, Jose's pride will not allow him to roll over against these arrogant bastards. Plus if we manage to pick up a result, even a draw, it would give us confidence going into the match on wednesday. As Kevin Keegan famously said "I would love it, really love it if we beat them" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It would be the next best thing to winning the league in my book. Lets make them work for the win. Oh, and did I tell you that I hate scouse
-
0-0 against the Spanish champions elect. Only the third team this season to keep them scoreless at home. And just in case you didn't know, we have to win to go through. Thats how you progress. But who said we had to win it tonight? We were superb tonight. Torres played because he works his socks off in matches like these. he done what was required of him and kept their back line on their toes. Ba is more of a poacher and tonight we needed someone to harass them and run at them when we had the ball. That's what Torres done. Oscar has been poor of late and this type of game just wouldn't suit his style. He may play at the Bridge as we will need to attack more. Ramires played because of his total commitment to get up and down the pitch for 90 minutes. I know he can be a loose cannon, but on his day you cannot leave him out and he played his part too tonight. He played that position against Barca 2 seasons ago and scored a cracker with a chip shot on a counter attack. Mikel was a giant tonight and broke up play, blocked shots, headed out balls, again, everything he was sent out to do. I am not a lover of him, but he played his part tonight and was faultless in all aspects of his game. Luiz too stood up and was counted. He was playing well in midfield and was equally as good when called upon to defend. Overall, tactics were spot on, and team selection (considering injuries and suspensions) was superb. He's not called the "Special one" for nothing. It's half time and all to play for. I think Hazard and Eto'o will be back next wednesday to improve our chances. These are my reasons for liking the result tonight.........Well done to the team AND the manager.

No point blaming the ref. We were poor, and we have been poor at defending set pieces all season.. Nobody picked up the Sunderland player from the corner. He had a ton of space and was allowed the freedom to put in a shot. Keeper perhaps could have done better, but if you dont defend corners you get punished. We were simply not good enough tonight. As said earlier in other posts we cannot break down teams that come and defend. Ramires is a little terrorist and should be shipped out at the end of season because he's a liability.he should have walked in the first half. Oscar looked completely burned out and needs a rest. He's not half the player he was at the start of the season. Willian played well enough, but he lacks a killer ball. Mata used to provide that but thats past tense. Salah is raw and just lacks experience in this league. Ivanovich should take up acting, if he stayed on his feet a little more often he might actually be a good player. Poor Aspi had a poor game, but it was never a penalty. But, saying that, we have had our share of luck this season in that regard, ie:West Brom last minute. Overall on the night we just didn't turn up and didn't deserve to win. No point blaming refs or dodgy decisions, we never really troubled the keeper with a raft of shots. We huffed and puffed and once again our lack of quality up front was exposed. But hey, we're not done for yet and still have some great games to play in the league and the small matter of a Champions league semi final to play. Would any of you accepted this at the start of the season????
-
Really looking forward to this game against Sunderland. Considering we need the win and our season hinges on this, I have to say I haven't felt the tension I feel now for years.First time we won the Premiership we had it won way before the last game so no real pressure. The last time we won no real pressure either. But this is totally different, this is a MUST WIN game. So lets just take it one game at a time, starting against Sunderland, get the points in the bag and pile the pressure onto the "dustbin divers" before they play Norwich. Com'n you Blues, do us proud
-
Palace-Liverpool is not a foregone conclusion. Palace beat Everton tonight and they are on a roll. Lets get Sunderland out of the way with a win for us. That'll put pressure on pool. Oh I'm loving it. It's back in our own hands.

I heard that Mourinho is going to drop Ivanovich for the Liverpool tie. He hopes that it will dampen Suarez's appetite for the game and hopefully he will lose some bite too

At this stage of the season I am just delighted that we re still in the hunt. looking back before Christmas, we were 5 points behind Arsenal, dropping silly points and complaining that we might have a fight on our hands to even stay in the top four come the end of the season.(I was one of those complaining !!) But, here we are, still well in there and a semi final of the champions league to come too. Happy days people, and way above my early season expectations. In my humble opinion Jose has really over achieved with this team and this has been a very productive season, whether we win a trophy or not

Too much talk here about contracts and clauses. Lets concentrate on the match. If I was asked beforehand who I'd like to get I would have asked for Athletico, and the first leg away, so all is good. Now Mourinho, work your magic and get us through to the final.

Aw Barbara.......not Meireles ???????????????
-
Very proud of that performance. Proud of the team, the manager and the spirit shown by the players was immense. And I was also very proud of the supporters at the Bridge who played a huge part in that victory. It has been many a night since I have heard the Chelsea support in such good voice. (and I was only watching on TV ) Well done you guys, you really were the twelfth man last night . Oh and yes............WE CAN WIN IT
-
Once again Luiz's ill-discipline costs us dear. He lost the ball for the first goal. He then commits a needless foul to give away the free kick that he scored from. And what the fuck has happened to Oscar and Ramires?? These two have seriously gone off the boil lately and John Terry??? Sunday morning header for Lavezzi to score off. The Terry of old would have cleared it to the wings or out for a corner, not put it on a plate. we have left it very hard for ourselves, but it's not impossible. We have done it before and enjoyed some great European nights at the Bridge. let's hope next Tuesday is another.
-
Well that really was a pile of shite today. I think that the only club that Jose has convinced that "Chelsea wont win the league" is Chelsea. The guys have just stopped performing away from home. To say we were awful would be being kind, because we were even worse than that!!!!!!! I said in earlier posts that whatever happens for the rest of the season I wouldn't care as we have performed above and beyond expectations. But today I saw a team that didn't fight for the jersey. We were slow, sloppy, unimaginative, uninterested and performed way below what is expected from a club of Chelsea's caliber Today we blew the league and perhaps even the runners up spot. Had we won, City had dropped more points and the nerves would have kicked in, we could have had a decent bit of breathing space. But alas, it's not to be. AND DONT GET ME STARTED ON OUR STRIKER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! .
-
That performance has been coming for a while now. We just needed a team with a "stupid" manager to allow us to execute it. And, "Lo and Behold", along comes the Arse with their manager Arse(ne) and we gave him a 1000 game present he will never forget. He never learned from his other hammerings this season. He allowed us to press high up the pitch, and then when we won the ball they allowed us to stroll through their defence as if it was a non contact sport. Their midfield is powder puff,. I never saw one decent crunching tackle from them all day. They were a disgrace to their fans. If Chelsea ever capitulate as easy as Arsenal did today I will walk away from football and watch cricket instead. Have to say, I'm really loving this season.............Way above my expectations. Well done guys no matter what happens from here on in

A nice little warm up before the Arsenal match on Saturday. We didn't have to get out of second gear, and we could have had 5 or 6 goals tonight. I know we won but I still think we need to be more ruthless when we are on top. Aspi and Hazard were pure class. Oscar improved from his last horror show, but again I felt Willian failed to deliver. He kept making the wrong decisions with his final passes. And again Rami ? another below par performance from him . He is playing well below his form from last season. Every one else gave good solid performances. But Galatasary were really piss poor and offered no fight whatsoever. Felt sorry for the Drog having to play with such poor team-mates. Lets have him back as a coach for our strikers. Just think what he could teach Lukaku !!!!!!!!! :blue scalf:

After our defeat against Villa I feel we really need a big result here to get back our mojo. We have been poor of late, yes, even against the Spuds. In that match they were the makers of their own downfall with some comical defending. We were finding it tough going until they gifted us the goals. So against Galatasary we need to get back to beating teams with our own skill, and we need to play well from the start, not wait until Jose gives the "hairdryer" treatment at half time. but, as "The Only place to be" has said, I too am really only focusing on the game against the Arse on Saturday. The Gala match can be used to get back to winning ways before then. So lets hope that the Villa result will be the kick we needed to reinvigorate the side, and drive us on to win BOTH the Champions League AND the Premiership. KTF and KTBFFH :blue scalf:
