  1. Lukaku is what it says on the tin...A poor mans Drogba. Big, bulky, runs at teams, draws defenders to him, but as Stingray says, he is not quite the finished Chelsea article yet. Dont think he is our 20 goal a season striker at the moment I'm afraid. But Martinez will make him a better player, no doubt. Very good manager in my opinion.
  2. Its not his style that I am worried about. It's when he decides to go walkabout that really frustrates me. If he can eradicate that from his game then yes, he could play for any team.........EVEN CHELSEA
  3. They are a tight team all right and will damage the other top sides, as we found out to our cost. Squad depth may be their undoing as the season progresses, but definitely a dark horse and maybe a good bet for top four.
  4. Well maybe the Stoke result is not such a great disaster after all !!! But it was still a disaster I am still so pissed off that I'm not speaking to my missus (and she knows nothing about football)........Will I ever get sense
  5. A Luiz on song is a joy to behold. But just because he is not getting a game shouldn't mean that he throws all his toys out of the pram!!! Maybe he would walk into the Barca side, but he's a CHELSEA player so he should play like the player he can be, then Cahill will have a fight on his hands. But at the moment he is not being the player he can be. And if he could just walk into the Barca team, then they dont have much strength in depth. To play for the top teams you must fight off the competition and earn your place by performance, not reputation.
  6. Why should Luiz leave ?? Because he cant get his place ? Fight for the place if he wants it that much.Let him prove that he deserves the position and take it off Cahill. I'm surprised that you think he should leave!! I thought that was the reason for having a big squad. To make players more competitive and not allow the player who has the position to become complacent !! Are you by any chance Luiz's agent??
  7. Why the hell do so many Chelsea supporters dislike Gary Cahill? No way was he to blame for our defeat at Stoke yesterday. The guy always give 100% for the team. It's very easy to look through rose tinted glasses and wish that David Luiz was playing and that he never makes any mistakes, but for me Cahill now has that position and I will back him all the way. Luiz is not exempt from making mistakes, and boy he has made some howlers. dont get me wrong, I like Luiz too, but every time Chelsea lose Cahill seems to be made the scapegoat. And yesterday against Stoke that is totally unfair. Aspi was "owned" by Walters, Ivanovich thinks he's a winger and plays far too high. I wouldn't mind if he could cross a decent ball, but I seen Sunday league players cross better and more consistently than him, so stick to fucking defending. Mikel I'm afraid doesn't cut it as a defensive midfielder for me (after Makelele no one is worthy of that role) and Ramires is an attacking midfielder. And please stop trying to shoe-horn Frank Lampard into def midfielder, its not working. Play Aspi on the right, Cole or Bertrand on the left. I'd like to see Luiz in Def Midfielder position perhaps beside Ramires. They could alternate in attacking when the chance arises. Then in defence let Cahill, Terry and Ivanovich fight it out for the centre back slots. If we can get a holding midfielder in the transfer window then let Luiz fight for a spot there too. After all, John Terry is now 33 !! But then, I've only supported them for 43 years, so what the fuck would I know
  8. Do you know what really frustrates me ????????? Its that we are consistently inconsistent !!!! Out of the top seven teams we have only beaten City and have yet to play Arsenal & Liverpool. Not the form of Champions. CHELSEA................SORT YER SHIT OUT !!!!!!!!!! TODAY WAS AWFUL AND AN EMBARRASSMENT
  9. Bloody typical...................Keep shooting ourselves in the foot...........Stunned, sickened, shocked and sad
  10. Here's my team to play Stoke Cech Ivanovich Cahill Terry Aspi Ramires Mikel Hazard Hazard Hazard Hazard Especially if he plays like he did the other night
  11. Defending was awful at times, but hell.....A win is a win and if Sunderland keep playing like that they wont drop too many more points at home. Hazard was bloody awesome, Torres was bloody awful... I love the guy but he just isn't cutting the mustard. Right, bring on Stoke for a clean sweep and 3 more points. If we do win we will have earned 12 points from 4 tough games...........Here's hoping :blue scalf:
  12. Yes true, but I'm just a bit of a Torres lover after his Barca goal Ba has yet to really impress me to that extent
  13. A very important match in my opinion. Poyet will get Sunderland up and running. I just hope its not against us. These are the matches we need to win and I think we will... 0-2 to the Blues. Lets put a nice little run together before we have to play the Arse! PS..Why start Ba in front of Torres??????? He played well against Southampton and will get the goals his displays deserve. Playing well for the team I think.
  14. Delighted to see Cahill score as he has been getting some bad press lately. Also think that we really need to sort ourselves out before the game starts, not at half time. We were awesome in the second half, but for long periods of the first half we were poor. Huge difference in displays of first and second half. Mata was super, Torres may not have scored but his hassling and chasing was great to watch, and he showed power attacking the Southampton defence. Ramires was a little motor in the midfield and deserved his MoM award. Defence as a unit was solid and class going forward. Hazard is still not the finished article (in my humble opinion) he drifted in and out of this match. And nice to see Demba score. :blue scalf: But now, the ten million dollar question????????????? Which Chelsea will we see against Sunderland? The one that thinks it has the right to win, or the one that has the will to win. Roll on Wednesday.
  15. Points taken and well made, though I was not in Benitez's fanclub I still would like to see Luiz given a midfield start. If he does get his place back in the centre of defence I just feel he will really have to raise his game and his level of concentration to stay in the team. We all know he has it in him, but we need to see it.....and soon
  16. Glad you liked it Sheva !!!! Which part???????????
  17. Can you give me a couple of examples SeB? I know that Luiz is a far more gifted and intelligent footballer than Cahill, but that counts for diddly squat when you keep making schoolboy errors. I cant fault Cahill in his last few matches and he sticks to his position. Luiz, on the other hand is a fantastic talent, but would be a much better Defensive midfielder than an out an out defender. At least as a DM if he goes walkabout he would have defenders in position (like Cahill ) behind him. Dont get me wrong, I really love Luiz but he just needs to tighten up his game, then he would be unreplaceable.
  18. Last night against Basel, we were rubbish and got exactly what we deserved....nothing. But we cannot blame Mourinho for that. The team he put out SHOULD have won that match easily. But Basel rose their game against us and the team (that's our guys on the pitch!!) failed to produce what they are capable of. They were sloppy in their passing, sloppy in their closing down and seemingly disinterested in creating any shots on target. The boss cannot be held responsible for poor player performance, and I am fully sure he has already told them that. Wait and see the changes he makes for Southampton. I am sure there will be a shake up :blue scalf:
  19. Oh com'n guys !!!!!!!!!! We are F#@king Chelsea, and we are a wounded animal right now after Basel and West Brom at home, so we have something to prove. They are Southampton, riding the crest of a wave right now, but punching way above their weight (in my humble opinion). If we are to win anything this season these are the games we MUST win, and I have full faith that we WILL win. And you all need to have faith in our team and manager too. Every season one team barges its way into the top 4 or 5 for the first half of the season, then fades away to mid table mediocrity. This season its the Saints. We will show them who's the best and continue the chase for the Premiership. Lets have a bit more faith in our team (no matter how tough that seems at times)
  20. A tough day at the office for us. We played poorly but hell we're through, so lets move on. No great harm done. Now lets concentrate on improving and beating Southampton, then all this will be forgotten :blue scalf:
  21. Have to say the Basel are playing very well and have closed us down once we pass half way. Although we have played poorly we are still at 0-0. So after a rocket up the ass from Jose and some tactical tweaks I feel confident we will win this one. 0-2. Hope we are not slipping back to our old "November" ways
  22. Hope that Nando gets a game tomorrow night. Just when he starts to show form he gets injured. Give the guy a chance and I really think that under Mourinho he will score for us. He has been unlucky with injuries and a dodgy red card. I agree with what has been said here, that he was rubbish against Newcastle. But come on guys, he wasn't alone there now was he? 10 others were rubbish too so give the guy a break. I really like the guy.
  23. Following on from our sweet victory over the Hammers, I think that we still need to build team confidence and we need to put together a sequence of wins.We are kinda stuttering along, but another win against Basel might just galvanize us and give us a little more faith in our away form. I wouldn't tinker too much with the team that played West Ham. Maybe bring in Mata for Oscar...purely to give Oscar a rest and to give Mata a meaningful game, also rest John Terry and bring in Luiz. We will need to be at full strength against the Saints next Sunday.
  24. WHU are not in the "relegation zone" and what do you want from Chelsea? My point was that this was a vastly improved performance from our others of late. . This was a very professional performance, away from home to a team who class this match as their cup final. We won, and we won well.........Class result in my opinion, no matter where they stand in the table
  25. Bloody hell guys/gals?????? "good to win but that's the side with no striker"..........."West Ham played shit"...................."Everton and City destroyed them as well".......... FFS........Can you not see a vastly improved Chelsea performance.......A team willing to hassle the opposition in their own half.....................A team that MADE West Ham look average. Pre-match threads were worried about going to the Hammers, but we wiped the floor with them. Give credit where it's due.......Chelsea were outstanding tonight....Accept it...And if we can keep playing with that level of commitment we will win the Premiership :blue scalf:
