We miss 4 of our best players and we can still field a more than decent team. Ah, the times we live in.
-
Chelsea have hit rock bottom and are probably on their way up. United is still firmly on the way down I think. Wait and see what happens next year... Getting José would be suicide. They need a relatively young coach with a long-term vision more in line with what Ferguson was doing. I'd look at some ex players if I were them.

Shearer is one of my favorite English players of all time, so both of them are obviously below him as far as I'm concerned, but I don't know why he should be considered the lesser of Costa this season.
-
I know. He still won a title at 17 though. And once he's off to a top team, I'd say after next season, he'll probably start competing for them again. Also, winning a title is never easy, unless there's one completely overpowered team in a league like PSG or Bayern.
-
Shearer was 24 when he won his first and only title. Lukaku was 17. Let's wait and find out what happens next. ;-)

Man, you can say what you want about how the Spanish league only has a couple of decent teams and that it's in general weaker than the Premier League, but 6 out of 7 of their teams are qualified for the QF. Germany has three, England two, Italy none,

I'm not a scientist, but the sun probably only influences life here in the long term. Temperatures (and pollution) have been rising steadily since the industrial revolution, and have done so at a higher speed than before since the 70s. There's few other factors but human influence to be able to cause such a change. 7 billion people can make a lot of mess. It shouldn't even be about climate change per se, but about the air and water pollution that comes with it...

That's most likely the plan. Not that it will help them. The only Republican who can still win the presidency is a moderate. Looking at demographics, I'm wondering how long it will take for Texas and Arizona to become swing states in stead of solid red ones.

I actually think he might be finished on the highest level. It's always the same injury, no matter how hard he works on his recovery. Makes me sad. Guy is a shining example of how a football player should act and has an iron mentality, but he just can't stay fit anymore. Reminds me of Ronaldo. When I saw him get that last (yet another) knee injury while playing for Milan, that was soul crushing. Probably my favorite striker of all time, that guy.
-
Titles are not the only correct comparison though, because that would make a guy who stayed faithful to his mediocre team like Alan Shearer not a world class striker (ok, he got one title with Blackburn).
-
Yes it does. People can say what you want, but it's not an easy league for top goal scorers. Holland quite often used to have a top scorer with 25+ goals a season. Belgium rarely has because lots of teams completely park the bus. Romelu was bullying defenders as a 16 year old though. I remember him playing Ajax in the Arena. The home team thought it would be a walk in the park. Half an hour later it was 0-2 after two 16 year old Lukaku headers.
-
Yes, it is now, because he's been playing every game for two seasons so he could develop. Here he would have played league cup games and some 15 minute subs for Costa.
-
Yes, plenty of game time. Like Remy for example. Are we still having this idiot argument?
-
Yes, because absolutely no other club that does play in the Champions League will ever buy him if he continues playing like this.
-
Well, still didn't play him though.
-
Haha, Arsenal. They'll have to wait for a very long time to get a clear title shot like this again. Idiots.
-
There is no Torres/Eto'o around to take that spot now. Also, Lukaku didn't want to be second choice so whether he's 2nd or 4th didn't really matter. He made the right choice. Lukaku scored 9 in 15, Costa 11 in 16 since Christmas. Don't kno about assists. Their stats are quite similar in 2016. The stats before Christmas are not worth comparing.
-
Seriously? What were they doing, making out? What if this was Suarez or something doing it to a Chelsea player?
-
Liberal media, leftists... jada jada. i'm not some idiot who believes everything the guys on television tell me to believe. I don't like the guy. He looks and feels like a slimey sleazebag. I don't like him trying to shove his religious believes down other people's throat, I don't like how he and his buddies ignore the entire scientific community when they talk about things like climate change, I don't like his extreme views on social issues that have no place in the 21st century and I don't like how people like him see the world only in black & white. The majority of the American republican party has been on the wrong side of history since before Reagan, and it's only getting worse. Liberal media my ass. I base my views on shit he actually said.

Well, not at United, since they'll have the "Special" One there next year.
-
Seriously? I'm one of the only ones that keeps saying he's dead tired and spent? The guy played almost literally every minute of every game for the past three seasons (not including this one), he's the most fouled player in the BPL. Rest him. Some of the reactions here are vile.
-
If you're going to keep playing him like this every match he's going to have the same injuries until he eventually breaks down indefinitely and becomes another Torres
-
I know, and it works best with players who have an actual bond with the club...
-
You know what would help? Getting actual players from around Chelsea to play for the club in stead of just spending millions of pounds getting everyone else. But hey, I've been tiring everyone for years saying this.
-
I just came here to post this. Hazard is just busted. He's dead tired and worn and needs a long vacation. How many games did the guy play in the last three seasons without ever being substitute? Getting kicked down countless times each match btw. The Euro finals will only make it worse. It wouldn't be a bad idea to let him start a couple of games from the bench. If I was Wilmots, I'd take a fresh young guy like Charlie to the Euros just to have a backup that isn't completely worn out. KDB's injury might as well be a blessing in that light.
