  1. At least Martinez has 7 years of PL experience. Wilmots had 3 months of losing games in the Jupiler League experience.
  2. Defense was not the problem with Wilmots. We did not concede often with him as a manager. Wales was obviously the exception since Alderweireld was the only serious defender left (No Kompany, Vermaelen, Vertonghen, Lombaerts, ...). Problem was having no tactical plans, especially when behind against a defensive opponent. Martinez won't be worse. Considering we can't pay the absolute top managers (Wilmots only made 600.000 euro a year), this is not too bad.
  3. It's okay man. It's more amusing than insulting actually.
  4. Ah, everyone can do this? Strange no one else made as many for Everton in one season since the start of the premier league then. In a season where they finished 12th or so.
  5. Well, then maybe those fans are shit. Maybe give him a chance first and complain after the season. He doesn't want to cost 80 million. You had him for 15 and you made him fuck off. Also, you don't care about goals? I thought that was the point of the game.
  6. Yes, yes, opposition. He made 25. Were all of them weak? Also Torres wasn't 'ahead of him' in number of goals at his age. Not even close. He more than 30 goals on Torres. There are four strikers who scored more than him at 23 and they are called Ronaldo, Raul, Messi and Aguero.
  7. You're going to compare a guy who came in already injured with a young player like Lukaku possibly not even in his prime yet? 90% of this forum was crying about him when he was pounding them in game after game and Chelsea was close to the relegation spots. Also, if you look at all of his goals last year, not too many of them are typical poacher goals. Some are nice counters, some are great headers, some he created by himself. He's more versatile than some of you guys think. What a donkey, right: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Wk7wrcdcag
  8. Apparently it's Conte that really wants him, isn't it? Weren't all of you guys giving him your blind trust just a month ago? Wait and see.
  9. I think he's better with another striker next to him. Like Kone last year.
  10. To be honest, De Bruyne couldn't even make De Bruyne look good at the Euros. Lukaku didn't play bad at all considering our tactics. He scored twice, put several players in front of goal with a pass (who then wasted the opportunity) and was just half a foot away from a couple of more goals at times. I would like to see how he and Michy would get along on the field though. Could be a good combo.
  11. It's insane how his words get twisted on here. Your last sentence is exactly what he said and there is nothing wrong with it.
  12. Why would a player want to move from Juve to Utd in 2016. It's clear which of the two is the bigger team right now. Muh, money. I hope they don't sell and tell everyone to go fuck themselves. Utd had him and let him go. Had they given him a decent chance in the first team, they wouldn't have to pay a dime.
  13. There was a wink behind the sentence. ;-) Every country has its stereotypes, but after lots and lots of traveling, I've realized that in reality the differences exist mostly on an individual level. People are the same everywhere. Some are loud, some are quiet, some are nice, some are assholes, some are shy, some are extrovert and so on.
  14. Change 'Belgians' into for example 'black people' and read your sentence again. ;-)
  15. First thing I heard about it and it's from a twitter account. I highly doubt it's true.
  16. Spot on. Also, he was right in what he said. This manager can't take this team any higher, everyone saw that on the World Cup, and yet he still doesn't want to leave. With all respect to Wales, they're a good team, but if you broke your teeth on their system twice in a year, you should have a tactical plan at the ready when you face them in a quarter final. There were player/manager round table discussions after the loss to Italy because basically none of the players supported the tactics used. What does this guy do when he's not even behind yet? Go back to the same tactic we've seen failing for two years now. Big guy up front -> shoot balls at his head. What this team also missed btw, is a real leader in midfield. Basically the player Wilmots himself was. Someone who can take over the managerial role on the pitch and fire everyone up. We have two of these guys: Kompany and Vertonghen, but they play in defense and both were injured.
  17. Good transfer btw: fast, strong, technical goalscorer. Probably the most complete Belgian striker at the moment, although I still think Lukaku is superior when playing in a suitable system. I hope he's actually going to play, but with Conte personally greenlighting the transfer, I guess he will.
  18. Bat(man)-Shoa(rma)-Yi(eeehaw). Not difficult. ;-)
  19. Come on man, he finished his last season at Lille with 20 goals and made a small team french champion. When he was like 20-21.
  20. Yes, would have benefited our NT greatly as well. Boo.
  21. I think the main problem is still a lack of rest. Get some support for him next season. Spend that dough.
  22. Haha, imagine being an 90 point defender playing against this 180 pound monster at 13. He should have played two age groups higher.
  23. I agree with you. Mertens is rated just below those three I think. He's just a popular guy and he's kind of a supersub every time he comes on. Also, Maradona is his biggest fan. That must mean something. Mertens is a good squad player, I'm just glad we finally got rid of Mirallas and Chadli. Both are far worse than Dries.
