  1. Past hour
  2. He's gone, that's all that matters right now. WHU will be picking up some or at least half his wages I hope. Let's hope he has a few good games and they think he is prime Nesta
  3. Today
  4. I got excited for a bit, and then I remembered it was only on loan.
  5. No, you are off by a year. That (Chels trying to buy him) was in summer 2018. In summer 2017 Alisson was coming off a year of being the Roma backup keeper, but I so wanted him then as my Brasilian/Swedish friend in Porto Allegre (she is a huge Gremio fangirl) tipped me off about him from his Internacional (Gremio's hated Porto Allegre derby rival) days. I knew then, in 2017, that there was no chance Cuntois would renew, as we stupidly loaned him for three straight years to Aletico Madrid, and he put down roots with the city. Marina was in utter denial of this, insisting he would renew. She turned down insane money from Real that summer of 2017. Then, in summer 2018, when Marina finally realised Cuntois was not going to renew she cocked it all up. Tried to buy Allison but he said no, I want to be a scouser. Then she met Atletico's €100m release clause for Oblak but he told us to piss off. So we panic bought shit Kepa for £72m (inflation-adjusted to around £97m in February 2026 pound sterling) and panic sold Cuntois to Real for likely 2 and a half or so times LESS cash than we could have had the year before.
  6. The same window we tried to sign Alisson Becker as well
  7. Good post. I agree that you are inhabiting a sound logic area of thought.
  8. If Anderson and Wharton are too much I think Barco will be the guy. Would be an incredibly easy move to do I would assume. Of course the wildcard situation is if Enzo continues this form the rest of the season and we miss out on UCL he could ask to go to Madrid. That’s the only scenario in which I could imagine us spending gigantic money again to replace him. I could see us going for Tonali then.
  9. I thik the only ones on that list we would MAYBE make a move for would be Sandro Tonali (I think he would cost £60 to 70m) Adam Wharton Elliot Anderson Felix Nmecha (maybe) after that, going down in age I see us sniffing around (remember these are all CMFs or DMFs) Valentín Barco (already a BlueCo player) plus Ayyoub Bouaddi Senny Mayulu (TOUGH PULL, as it is PSG) Johan Manzambi Victor Froholdt Jobe Bellingham Noah Sadiki Marc Casadó (Barca DMF) Kees Smit Nathan De Cat plus Kennet Eichhorn (summer 2027, as he is too young to move until then) Bayern want him SO badly, so probably not going to happen
  10. I’d take Tonali here in an instant as would every big PL club. I just cannot ever see us spending mega money like that again on a single player. Especially not in midfield after we already bought 2 £100m guys. Do I think BlueCo would sanction a midfielder for £50-70m? Probably. But never £100m again. Not with Andrey Santos gaining in stature.
  11. Transfer windows have lost all the fun they used to be. Somewhat like getting socks and underwear for Christmas.
  12. Tonali is close to, if not now world class for me. A great MFer and is only 25yo, a close to perfect age for me (in terms of being a very experienced vet but not closing in on 30yo) but NOT BlueCo! Ffs, VITINHA is older than Tonali, would we say, OMG, he is too old!!! Here are the top DMFs and CMFs in the world, just to show where he fits in (he can play either one to a uper high level) The ones older than Tonali are in italics. Many of the ones younger than him are only 1 or so years younger than him as well. In order of valuation (I personally would take Caicedo over any of them, even Pedri) and also, every single CMF or DMF valued over €40m is listed here: Pedri Federico Valverde Declan Rice Moisés Caicedo João Neves Vitinha Ryan Gravenberch Enzo Fernández Alexis Mac Allister Bruno Guimarães Sandro Tonali Martín Zubimendi Rodri Aurélien Tchouaméni Aleksandar Pavlovic Tijjani Reijnders Adam Wharton Elliot Anderson Nicolò Barella Carlos Baleba Pablo Barrios Warren Zaïre-Emery Eduardo Camavinga Manu Koné Morten Hjulmand Felix Nmecha Scott McTominay Frenkie de Jong Nico González Angelo Stiller Amadou Onana
  13. Yesterday
  14. Tonali's agent is offering him to clubs. Not sure he will cost more than the others when the resale value for all of them will be much higher as they are 3-4 years younger than Tonali.
  15. thanks to cucurella and pedro for winding up mavropanos so that he gets suspended for 3 games
  16. Tonali would probably also be a £100m player unless his contract is running down, surely? Also likely to be even more sought after than the other two if he’s available. Wouldn’t be shocked if United try sign 2 of Anderson, Wharton, Baleba, or Tonali if they finish in with UCL football. So hopefully we’re laying the groundwork with whichever midfielder we want already.
  17. why??? he needs actual sr minutes
  18. He is a potential option for the summer for us if he is looking for a way out. He's clearly checked out at Newcastle but is still a top player. Wharton and Anderson will be super expensive and in demand.
  19. Knowing this lot we have probably sent him with a receipt
  20. Let’s now hope he does reasonably well so that they or someone else buys him for good.
  21. It’s a temporary solution in the sense that he was called back six months earlier than planned. He was already coming to the club in the summer — we’ve just brought that forward. It’ll be interesting to see whether Badiashile is ahead of him in the pecking order, but since LR already knows him, I do think he’ll play a few matches ahead Badiashile. What I don’t really see is much space for Acheampong, but we’ll have to wait and see how things play out. Maybe Sarr turns out to be a pleasant surprise and actually has more potential than Jacquet, which I understand choosing Liverpool given how many centre-backs we already have. It’s also become clear that the club will only pay big money for young players like Jacquet. Since they didn’t see any others worth that level of investment, they went for the easy option and recalled Sarr. The club didn’t try any other crazy move for another player because, almost without anyone noticing, the season is already well past the halfway point. They’re probably banking on the injured players returning and getting at least a few games under their belt, hoping that’s enough to muddle through until the end of the season.
