Going forward there are signs we could hurt teams but we need a top GK, CB partnership, LW & CF. To have a chance.

A bottle job which has its routes firmly in the Sporting Directors and owners who have repeatedly failed us, and themselves. Out of cash and even if we had it, who would trust this lot to spend it on the areas we need it spending? I suspect that we are not far from some kind of monumental reckoning, the losses (both financial and on field) cannot continue, this is not an oligarch pet project, in the end a cold VC financial decision will get made and we the fans will pay.

People are getting too caught up in this Penders being our number 1 next season/good GK signing blocking Penders pathway bollocks. If he’s good enough he’ll break into the team either way, like Courtois did with Petr here and Petr did with Carlo here. We still have to be competitive until he’s ready and that wont happen without a good reliable GK. And we certainly wont be competing for meaningful trophies without one. Same with CBs & CFs. Maignan was there in the summer, wanted to come and we fucked about be it over price or Penders long term plan. You reap what you sow. It has been a problematic position since Courtois left so those working at the club, they deserve to get the blame for letting it continue to be one. And then Rosenoir gets all he deserves also making & picking Jorgensen as his #1, encouraging him to play out like that, in the same way Maresca did with Sanchez last season. There is a simple solution, limit the GKs touching the ball as often or playing risky passes. But they’d rather live and die by their football philosophy. Its absolute stupidity/stubbornness which will shoot him in the foot again and again. The bigger picture is though that any sort of plans hinging on the chance that a group of say 15-20 young players develop as expected/better than expected, without real quality or leaders around them, is suicidal squad building and planning. If Penders had a bad spell for instance, who do we put in goal, Sanchez? Jorgensen? Some 19 year old kid from Uzbekistan who is apparently the next Manuel Neuer according to Ben Robert’s or Paul Winstanleys stupid data? No thanks. This whole blocking pathways nonsense is ultimately why we missed out on players like Maignan, Semenyo, Guehi, Donnarumma etc. Regardless of closeness or likelihood of securing the deals, the club will never push the boat out and make an exceptional offer for ready made players. Instead they’ll say Sarr or Paez or Penders or whoever else they’ve got on the books at either here or Strasbourg are the long term solution. Its a cop out. And why we will just get rolled over by the big boys every time.

Liam Rosenior on Chelsea XI being leaked: "I'm sure we'll get to the bottom of that if that's the case. These things now happen quite a lot but I'm more worried about the end result rather than before the game." (@BobbyVincentFL)
-
dogshit typical BlueCo buy fuck it all
-
30yo and older (so do not long term block Penders) proven GKers who are even remotely available Jan Oblak Emiliano Martínez Ederson Rui Silva Predrag Rajković Marc-André ter Stegen Dominik Livakovic Yann Sommer
-
Liam Rosenior on how Jorgensen is mentally: "Credit to him, he held his hands up in the dressing room. Everyone makes mistakes; sometimes they're more costly than other times and this is one of those moments." More from Liam Rosenior on the defeat: "Even at 4-2, we were still right in it. The fifth goal, that's the painful one. It's something I have to really solve. We are very close to being an outstanding team." (@BobbyVincentFL)

The bind we’re going to be in in the summer is that if we bring back Penders and throw him straight in as our new #1, we’re trusting yet another young kid in a super pressurized role who has never played at this level. He’s bound to make naive errors and mistakes too just out of inexperience. But then on the other hand, what club out there is going to sell us some ready made, world class keeper? They don’t grow on trees and if we identified one we wanted they’d probably cost mega money. You also then block Penders.
-
Says everything about where we are as a club
-
We have a shite defense and two shite keepers
-
Before kickoff
-
it damn well better
-
I hope this settles the Sanchez vs Jorgensen debate. Sanchez has had a solid season and should have a lot more cleansheets to his name if we had any semblance of a normal defense.
-
Carra SPOT on calling out BlueCo for GKers and CBs being SHIT and also saying Palmer is fucked up atm for whatever reason Henry saying the same thing
-
16 games in for Rosenior and biggest scalp taken is out of form Villa and maybe Napoli? Three arsenal losses and whatever this clownshow was today
-
He’s missing the World Cup regardless, he’s fucking shite atm
-
BOTH I say
-
I am not joking about want Roberts sacked in the morning he is the fuckstick coaching our shitbolic GKers to keep up these risky passes they have done so under him for multiple head Chels manangers Rosenior needs to sack him NOW and IF he refuses, sack that fucker too!!!
-
Not just his play but also his body language and attitude look terrible as well. Pouting constantly after getting subbed despite him doing nothing all game multiple times this season. Uncharacteristically giving the ball away nonstop. Totally unable to get past players. The only explanations are he’s still carrying an injury and refuses to get it dealt with due to fear of missing the World Cup or his head has indeed been turned and he wants to go back to Manchester.
-
other than the Messi/Xavi/Iniesta Barca teams (any decent mamanger would have won with them) and that one-off Citeh win Pep has been poor overall in the CL
-
My biggest worry in all of this is not the fact we have been beaten 5-2 or the keeper cannot pass water, but what the fuck has happened to Palmer? This bloke has disaapreared off the face of the earth and we are looking at players like Garnacho who have pulled us through games and played well for weeks.
-
insanely good save by Cuntois in that Citeh game
-
Not conceded 5 since Barca 26 years ago Such a lack of discpline and leadership
-
I honestly had no clue who they were before their sudden emergence in the EL a few seasons ago (destroying Mourinho's Roma side at home). Since then, I've been keeping an eye on their journey in Europe and root for them. It's just a shame that a number of their players have been snapped up but failed to deliver. Boniface probably being the most notable until his injury woes.
-
Very true that would've been a diaster....its the hope that kills you so least now we have no hope 🤣 focus on league and FA cup.. cause lets be real thats our only chance this was never a chance to win
