He has done a fantastic job there but for me, we need a proven winner. Alonso is that. Andoni hasn’t won anything yet. Don’t want another project manager. We need no more excuses going forward. Bring in a winner to win things.

Very very optimistic with Alonso. I hope we get him.

Liverpool fans are raging all over social media that they might see Alonso come here whilst they keep Slot who they dislike. I’m firmly in the cautiously optimistic camp if he’s our guy. If the structure improves at the club which is a HUGE question mark I think he could be a great appointment. But if he’s just yet another “head coach” who is told “you’ll take what we give you” in the transfer market and the directors sign more players based solely on data then it’ll blow up just like every manager has under BlueCo. Of all the names linked he is probably the most sensible. Iraola would require too much of a squad overhaul.

Andoni all day for me, his job with Bournemouth has been incredible.

Ornabomb confirms it. Chelsea waits for Alonso. Iraola waits for Chelsea

Underwhelming as fuck

👀🙌The noise from within Anfield is that Arne Slot will survive the summer. (@Ian_Ladyman_DM)

In the real World yea but we are living in BlueCos World and it stinks.

💣📋🔵BREAKING: Sources have said discussions between Chelsea and Alonso have been relatively positive. (@alex_crook)
-
Seems more like he's wants to be in England and is waiting to see what jobs open up. If he wants to go to Palace, he can sign right away
-
iraola is going to palace. forget about him

The shortlist has to be Alonso and Iraola. Maybe too big a jump up for Cesc, Luis, Silva and Glasner
-
Man City playing 3 games in seven days could give us a chance, they are still heavy favorites, but there is a slim chance.

Agreed. The keeper situation is kind of tough this summer. Sanchez isn’t good enough to be the Chelsea #1 because he’s too mistake prone but he is probably also a bit too solid to want to stay and be parked on our bench as the permanent #2. He would start for a bunch of decently sized clubs. But then on the other hand it’s a big risk to throw a super young keeper like Penders into the fire behind a defense that may have several changes. Unless they’re confident that he’s a Courtois level talent which is what we were told when we signed him. What I can’t see is these directors throwing huge money at a top keeper. They haggled and refused to go to like £20m for Maignan. So in my eyes it’s 100% down to either Sanchez or Penders. Whoever the new manager fancies.

It is Kaveh. As usual he's making stuff up

We will give some fight and then lost as always

🗯🔵Oliver Glasner and Filipe Luis are among the group of head coaches Chelsea are making checks on as they search for a permanent successor to Liam Rosenior. (@Matt_Law_DT)

One off game, big stadium, against a big team, our only chance for silverware..... No chance, just give them a game or at least try please.
-
See that's the problem, holding onto and continuing to players like Sanchez is part of the downfall, players like him need to sold and a new high quality keeper bought, we have to start buying much better quality.....Out standards have dropped so much as fans it's as if BlueCo have brainwashed us to thinking mediocrity is fine.
-
I think it’s 100% a given that Sanchez will remain as our #1. He probably showed just enough quality over this season for the club to tell whomever the new manager is that he must stay for 1 more season until Penders is fully ready in their minds. Unless they give the manager full autonomy of player decisions and the new guy is adamant that Sanchez isn’t suitable for their style.

Sky Sports reporting that Chelsea will make their manager appointment mid June. Not really sure how they know that timeline?

🗯🔵Breaking NewsXabi Alonso has emerged as the front-runner for the Chelsea job in a move that indicates the club are willing to cede more power to the manager over recruitment. Alonso is open to the prospect of a move to Stamford Bridge. Alonso has some high-profile backing inside the ownership group. Dave Fallows is the guy he knows at the club. (@MsiDouglas)

Can't cope with another summer of a manager telling us they need time to look at the players and that Rob Sanchez is a great goalie, that we have an excellent squad that should be fighting for all major honours, that they will need time to get their ideas across but that if we're patient the team will stop leaking easy goals and going on endless losing runs. Just give me a straight talking manager that will be clear about what he needs to deliver immediately, give him that, and then hold him accountable if he fails to have us comfortably top 4.
