Fantastic article on the Chelsea website about the man. I never realised how influential he was in saving The Bridge. We have him to thank for so much. A stand named after him would be a great honour for a man we can probably never thank enough.

Deeply saddened by his death. One of the greatest directors in the film business of all times and also a world class actor. I will never forget his wroks esp. Gandhi and Cry freedom but also shadowland and a bridge too far are very underrated movies - coincidentially the latter is is about young men going from Britain to Arnheim for work. Sounds familiar to me^^

For Those of you saying name a stand after him, there are lots of petitions going round on Twitter to rename the East Stand after him

That's a really nice idea and the Attenborough Stand has a fantastic ring to it. Would love to see something like that happen.

We'll be wearing black armbands at Everton too. Somewhat fitting this should happen on a Bank Holiday weekend though....somewhere The Great Escape will be showing.
