Chris Hughton?W

on't get the job, Roman would be looking for someone who has at lest some kind of experience more than one season with Newcastle! Roman would want someone like Hiddink or even AVB, someone who has had European success, experience or some kind of domestic triumph to their name - like Rijkaard, Lippi, etc.

I think so. I think Roman will work out some arrangement with Turkey about keeping him as DoF while we get a manager on Hiddink's recommendation.

Carlo Ancelotti was appointed on Hiddink’s recommendation, considering he's been an advisor for 2 years and even backed Carlo publicly when he was appointed.

So it makes no difference if he’s DOF or not, in that sense.

I'm unsure about that, Carlo was Roman's first choice after Grant's sacking and only when he couldn't be lured did he go for Scolari.

But Hiddink as DoF makes sense. Lets him be there for the club in an official capacity, which always good in terms of avoiding hassles with his actual employers (in this case, Turkey).

That said, I'm not going to complain if he is revealed as the manager.

In fact I read few days ago that Carlo was axed on Hiddinks recommendation.

Wait!

Hiddink is going on holiday, and we should be celebrating? Surely that would delay the supposed appointment even more? Which we shouldn't allow! We have already seen players leaving the club, maybe the youngsters, but it could also direct any potential transfer AWAY from the club. Who would want to play at a team without a manager?

I wouldn't! At the moment, all i want is an announcement for a new manager, beit Hughes or Hiddink or even Van Basten - i would hope it would be Hiddink, but i would rather WANT any indication that we could build the team we need sooner, with the players we need still available, then later, when they have already left for either our rivals or another foreign team. Neymar and Lukaku could be examples, and even Sanchez.

Be that as it may. Hiddink was in an advisory role when we were looking for his replacement in 2009. And he publicly backed Ancelotti in the papers when he was appointed. So 'if' he recommended Carlo's sacking, he essentially made a mistake recommending him in the first place.
