DYC. 7,542
suggest you learn the meaning of mentor...one of their main functions is to communicate ,,,suggest a common language is a startNeel was talking about a 'football mentor' and I'm saying he could a lot more from a player who is the same type. I mean David Luiz could learn a lot from JT defensively but when it comes to ball skills and his offensive game, Terry is not his man.
DYC. 7,542
He can still teach him a lot.Agree with that about Pirlo.Yeah of course but zolayes saying 'there could be no better mentor than Lampard' is not true.
zolayes 14,489
Yeah of course but zolayes saying 'there could be no better mentor than Lampard' is not true.name some then
DYC. 7,542
name some thenPlayers like Fabregas, Scholes, Modric, Arteta, Deco, Xabi Alonso could learn him a lot. And those are just players of who i'm sure speak English (and for all we know, Josh speaks another language like Spanish or Italian). Even Mikel could teach him a thing or two since he has some qualities Lampard doesn't have in the areas of passing and technique. And he could also learn a lot from other midfielders who's game is based on technique and passing like him by studying their game and copying their moves. eldo 868
Who was mentoring Scholes and Xabi? I don't think that he needs to work that much on his technique. And btw JTs technique is quite good for a defender.

And those are just players of who i'm sure speak English (and for all we know, Josh speaks another language like Spanish or Italian). And he could also learn a lot from other midfielders (or even retired players) who's game is based on technique and passing like him by studying their game and copying their moves.none of those are with us ... from lampard ..Josh could learn how to make the most of his ability ,,,how to look after his body ..how to behave on the field ..he doesn't need someone to copy ...would you like him to model his attitude on Fabregas or his tackling on Scholes .. Josh could learn so much from Frank I am amazed you can't see that ..he has made a career by an incredible work ethos ...Josh would benefit from guidance and Lampard has the intelligence and experience to give that
DYC. 7,542
none of those are with us First you say that there's no better mentor than Lampard, I disagree, you ask me to name some, I do it and now you say they are not with us...how to make the most of his ability ,,,how to look after his body ..how to behave on the field'It's obvious he can learn those last two things from him but he could those things from most professional footballers and I don't think you can teach somebody how to make the most of their abilities since there are few footballers who actually do that. That has to come from the player self.he doesn't need someone to copy ...would you like him to model his attitude on Fabregas or his tackling on Scholes .. Come on zolayes, of course you copy the positive things out of someone's game..And didn't you ever play football yourself? Every footballer copies some things from a (great) player's game. The great Zidane always said he learned a lot from watching Enzo Francescoli, Van Persie learned from Bergkamp. Even Joe Hart admitted stealing a move from Kasper Schmeichel that helped him a lot in his career and still uses that move a lot.he has made a career by an incredible work ethos ...Josh would benefit from guidance and Lampard has the intelligence and experience to give thatThat's all true but absolutely not what I'm talking about. I'm purely talking about improving his game and he could (a lot) more from players who are the same type and share the qualities. You're acting as if I said he couldn't learn a thing from Lamps and that's not what I said.
chrismada9 1,948
Pirlo is far too old!! Man City can have him if they really want to. We're developing a young team now and it's about time we stopped buying older players!!

A player who's in his 30's, starting his decline & just another player eating off our wage bill. We got rid of Ballack & co. for a reason

BlueLion. 21,491
Two/three years ago I'd have said yes. But we're at a point now where we are past the stage where we should be buying for the future - now we have to. We've seen this through Sturridge, Piazon, Matci (okay, I know he's leaving, but still!), Ramires, Luiz and you can also argue Torres, and us being attributed with Lukaku and Sanchez being linked with us. J.F. 1,484
Essien, Mikel, Ramires, Benayoun, Lampard, Joshua, and now Lucas, why we need Pirlo ? More chances to Joshua, no Pirlo !
