I was almost sick when I heard this. How disgusting has humanity become?

A four-year-old girl who was found dead at her house in Greater Manchester had been stabbed, police have said.

Chloe Burke was found dead in a bedroom of the house on Lea Mount Drive, Bury, by police on Thursday.

Her mother, Dawn Makin, 33, was found unconscious beside her with slash wounds to her wrists. She remains critically ill in hospital.

The results of a post-mortem examination showed Chloe died from multiple stab wounds.

Detectives have said they are not seeking anyone else over the death.

Det Ch Insp Joanne Rawlinson, from the Major Incident Team, said: "We are continuing to look into the circumstances leading up to and surrounding this incident but I want to stress we are not looking for anyone else in connection with what has happened.

"This is a very tragic case that has resulted in a young girl losing her life and our thoughts remain with Chloe's family, who are understandably very upset by what has happened."

Sounds like the mum did it and then tried committing suicide by slashing her wrists. Awful story and the sad thing is that it's not rare. Too much scum on this planet.

No one in their right mind wants to kill their child. She is obviously mentally ill, some kind of breakdown and tried to kill herself as well.

My blame is put on society FB. There's no way a woman can suddenly have an outburst and stab her kid to death. Signs must've been there, a failure of the system.

Society covers a big scenario. Social workers cant keep their eye on everything -especially now the Tories are cutting the number of Social Workers.

She must have had some kind of breakdown -god knows what nightmares were going through her brain.

Yeah those cuts are terrible. Human protection is priority over everything. It's a shame politicians only think in numbers though.

Even her family though, they must've seen the signs or something? This woman was not alone and if she way, there's been some horrible neglect. Has it been absolutely confirmed it was the mother?
