Menezes backs Neymar move

Brazil boss reckons Premier League switch would beef up starlet

Last updated: 27th March 2011   ?

Brazil coach Mano Menezes believes rising teenage star Neymar would benefit from playing in the Premier League.

The 19-year-old stole the show when he netted both goals in Brazil's 2-0 friendly win against Scotland.

Neymar, who currently plays for Santos, has been linked with a move to Chelsea in recent months and his national coach reckons moving to England would help his fledgling career.

Stronger

Menezes said: "I think that could only be good for Neymar as it would be confirmation of his development.

"English football would make him stronger and help to escape strong marking.

"I don't see any problem.

"But Brazil fans will be deprived of watching a good player

Luiz is Terry's replacement. Alex is only 28 (29 in June) and Ivanovic is 27, they both have years ahead of them.

If Alex stays, he will be a substitute forever.

I can see Terry at the helm for 4-5 more years. Chelsea's Paolo Maldini.

I would love to see at least one Englishman come into the team, be it Phil Jones or not, simple reason is, we haven't bought an Englishman (since my knowledge) was Turnball, and he isn't exactly an impressive and important piece in our puzzle.

Wouldn't mind James McCarthy either, even though he is Irsh

Neymar

Sanchez

Aguero

Hamsik

OUT:

Kalou

Anelka

Turnball

Bosingwa

Malouda

That's totally dumb. Bring in strikers and midfield and get rid of a RB......

Also getting rid of a back up goalkeeper and only getting forward players....

Last with Neymar and Aguero, you will fight for space with Sturridge, Torres and Drogba....not the best of things for a star like Neymar or Aguero. While our lowly humble servant of Kalou does not make a big fuss as long as he gets a couple of games here and there.

No way. That's iimpossible. Even Maldini wasn't playing the best in his late thirties.

after spending 50 million on Torres do people really think we can get Neymar Sanchez Aguero they would cost over 100m all together i think we need to think about this logically.

Chelsea would be pretty solid even if it's just bringing in a top playmaker and a winger. It's creativity and width that's the achilles heels right now. The 3rd priority would be RB. A secondary striker who can play with Torres would be a luxury. But really, 2 players who can bring creativity and width to the team could be enough--if RA decided he can only spare 60M rather than 100M.

I really don't understand some people ... we just bought Torres for 50 million and he is suppose to be our main striker and you still want another striker ??

I was all for getting Lukaku before we got Torres but now I don't think we need him. If we are going to play with 4-3-3 we desperately need a right winger but definitely not a striker because Torres, Drogba, Anelka, Sturridge and even Kalou can play there. We need a player like Alexis Sanchez or Hulk, we don't need another target man because I don't think Torres and Lukaku could play well together even if we stay with 4-4-2 or 4-3-1-2. We also need a player who can play in CAM role and in few years replace Lampard and I think a player like Marek Hamšik would fit in well. I don't think Josh is ready to take this postion for at least 3-4 years and Carlo plays him in DM role so it doesn't really matter. I would buy van der Wiel only if we sell Bosingwa, otherwise I would keep Bosingwa here for another year.

IN :

- right winger (Sanchez, Hulk, Navas, Hazard, Ashley Young,)

- playmaker aka offensive midfielder (Hamšik, Pastore, Sneijder, Ganso, Douglas Costa, Pjanič, Gourcuff, Eriksen)

- right back ... but only if we sell Bosingwa (van der Wiel, Santon, Richards)

OUT :

- Hilario

- Ferreira

- Malouda

We will need more than 1 and if Drogba goes there will be more than enough room for another.

Neymar can play on both wings and play up front when Torres cant play, Lukaku is one for the future aswell, think 5 years when Torres is 31 and those 2 will be approaching there prime, Torres is for the immediate future (IE 5/6 years) Lukaku and/or Neymar will be the long term future (12 years).

We found out to our cost earlier this season its a squad game these days and there is no hiding from that.

Neymar could be used as an either winger or an forward, which i could rather use him as a winger. Sanchez as another winger, and then Lukaku, a young strong forward. The someone like Hamsik and that's all. The forward isn't really needed, tbh as we still have Sturridge who looks like to have the potential to become a class player.
