Wilson 358
So is Txiki still supposedly gonna be his replacement? I can't see it happening. I think we will be left in the shit with some nobody or perhaps a promotion to someone like the Wilkins situation.Fucking knew it! Steve Rowley? Oh dear!http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/8321160/Chelsea-want-Arsenal-chief-scout-Steve-Rowley-to-replace-Frank-Arnesen-as-Roman-Abramovich-reboots-club.html

Not to mention the likes of Henry, Eduardo (pre-Injury), Ramsay. Ect. But their English contenders too, Gibbs, Wilshere et al.

Van Persie is made of glass and if his gets more than 70k per week he's been a terrible signing for them considering his injury record. I don't rate Gibbs and I'm not particularly impressed with Vermaelen who along with Wilshere could be just an exception to the rule. I mean how many terrible CBs did they have before they hit a gold vein in Vermaelen?Wilshere could well be a "statistical mistake" like McEachran for Chelsea (or even Terry back in the day). HahaBut I agree about Henry and Van Persie (though when he's on form, he really is sensational!). Gibbs is good, he hasn't played much ahead of Clichy but I've heard some positive things about him. Van Aanholt is probably better though
LDN Blue 7,903
Frank Arnesen to join Hamburg as sporting directorThat's that then. Wonder who's replacing him though..
chrismada9 1,948
Chelsea sporting director Frank Arnesen has signed a three-year contract to take up a similar position at Bundeliga side Hamburg in the summer. The 54-year-old Dane, who previously held a comparable role at Tottenham, announced last November that he would leave Chelsea at the end of the season."I am convinced that with the strength we have and the right decisions we can develop something big," said Arsensen.Chelsea's chief scout Lee Congerton will also make the move to Germany.------------------------Source: BBC Football and various other sources------------------------Well we ll knew this was imminent but I suspect Hamburg isn't a bad team to sign for. Styles 9,790
All those rumors to Real Madrid and Man City were no doubt created by Arnesen himself to make those teams aware he was available. Nobody but Hamburg, a midtable German team, wanted him which says it all. This guy has played a big role in creating the mess that we find ourselves in. eldo 868
Gillhaus (end of contract), Arnesen, Congerton (HSV), Hillion (Nantes), wouldn't be surprised if others were on their way too. Also talk that Hoffenheim boss Marco Pezzaiuoli could want Michael Piwowarski, who does some scouting in Germany for #CFC, to join him.
