BlueLion. 21,491
Chelsea fans will get their first chance to see the new Peter Osgood statue at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, October 2.The statue, which will be placed outside the West Stand, is sure to attract large crowds for our first home game after its arrival, the next day against Arsenal on October 3. The Official Chelsea Website will also be carrying an interview with the sculptor Philip Jackson next weekend, as well as hearing from Peter's wife Lynne and Elaine Hutchinson, the wife of late Chelsea striker and Osgood's strike partner Ian.There will be a private unveiling of the statue for Peter's friends and family the day before, but this will not be open to the public.Chelsea TV will be dedicating next Friday to the legend, when the club's official television channel celebrates the unveiling of the statue with classic footage of the star in action and personal anecdotes from his former team mates.Osgood Day will begin with Long Live the King - a Chelsea TV special feature with former team mates including Dave Webb and Charlie Cook, who reveal their memories of Peter Osgood.Followed by archive footage of every game from the 1970 FA Cup run, including the final against Leeds United, you can hear from Osgood's former Cup-winning team mates Ron 'Chopper' Harris and Peter 'The Cat' Bonetti on How the Cup Was Won.The memories continue with action from Osgood against Manchester United and Arsenal before Tommy Docherty joins Jonny Gould for a special edition of Friday Night Live from 7pm.http://www.chelseafc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10268~2163918,00.html

middleoftheshed 388
Well here it is...and the poem:For Ossie - by Daniel Clarke A young boy stands among the crowd,Fifty thousand sing aloud.Sun sets and rises and thirty years on,He takes his seat next to his son. He tells him of a man he did not know,Compares him to today's hero,Blessed with talent he strived for success,Before a time of greed and excess. The papers print a name and a face,But his people saw an idol of passion and grace. For many a year he served the crest,With the pride of the lion upon his chest. His dreams, chased often, but realised by few,Chasing silver, draped in blue. For all the honours his successors have known,His legacy has been etched in stone. He lit the path and led the way,Set the bar for the stars of today.Gone he may be, but forgotten never,For the story of The King will live forever. Term-X 7,891
I wonder who will be next in line to wear the number 9, let's hope it's not given to a midfielder or a fucking defender again.

Borini, when he breaks through perhaps? I personally would like to see Anelka change to #9, but he seems to favour #
