@Term-X, is Kano still in the grime scene? Haven't heard from him in a long time..and i havent been listening to grime as much as i used to.

He's more of an actor now than a musician, he was on a prime time drama show last year.

Search youtube for 'Alien' & 'E.T', those are two tracks he featured in around 2011 time, pretty decent.

Kano is my favourite grime artist alongside Akala, shame they've both pretty much moved into other stuff i.e. acting.

Ah, grime was everything in it's prime.

@The Skipper, when i was into grime, the guys i liked were Kano, Skepta, JME and Roll-fucking-Deep haha

Didn't know about anybody else, and there was no way for me to be on top of all the rappers/music coming out so i just gave up.

But one of my mates told me to listen to Charlie Sloth's 'fire in the booth' mixes so thats all i'd listen to from time to time.

Kano was the man..

P's and Q's is just an absolute classic! Brings back so many memories  I think I still know all the verses off by heart. A few of my favourite tracks:

I'm surprised you even listened to grime, thought it was just massively overlooked in USA?

Re: fire in the booth, a lot of generic trash on there IMO, only a few stand out. This one is one of my favourites:

Fekky is an interesting guy, he doesn't have the best lyrics but his delivery gets you gassed. Track below from him just gets you soooo hype, check it:

I agree completely, 100%!

Its just a shame tbh...probably pressure to make it on the radio or they voluntarily decided to go that route, but that was never the point of grime (iirc). Weren't many, if not all, the grime artists big on not being signed, doing it all on their own, no hype, no backing? Roll Deep basically showed grime the finger and pissed off.

What is grime, exactly?

In simple terms it's the UK's version of Rap/Hip-Hop,, but it's not really once you listen to it. Grime is it's own genre, not to be viewed as "UK rap" and its true, though i cant really explain it unless you listen to it and understand their culture and way of rhyming and such.

Grime was MASSIVE from 2003-2005

Dizzie released his debut and Kano released his, with Roll Deep, Wiley, JME/BoyBetterKnow all releasing their best material.

Holy Shit i forgot about the one of the greatest grime artists ever in Dizzee Rascal !

Boy in da corner :worship: Classic. And all this talk about grime is making me feel some type of way right now.. #Nostalgia
