I'm bored and trying not to actually start doing my many assignments, so here is brain teaser:

A man and two boys, a woman and two girls, and a policeman and a prisoner all want to cross a river using a small boat. Here are the rules:

- The boat can only fit two people at a time and must have at least one adult to get it across the river.

- The man cannot be alone, on the boat or on one of the banks, with one of the two little girls unless the woman is there as well. Same with the woman and the two little boys.

- The policeman and prisoner must not be separated at any time.

There is no trick or silly answer, you just have to solve the riddle by finding the proper combinations.

HINT: The girls and boys CAN be alone on one of the banks without the woman and man.

This is basically the same as the cannibals and missionaries brainteaser.

Stick the man and one of the boys on the boat, put the boy over to the other side, the man stays in, goes back gets the other boy, puts him over.

The man then gets the women and puts her over to the other side, before getting one of the little girls and puts her over, then the other little girl and puts her over, then gets out and police officer and prisoner get over.

I'd always use the train if I had the option here. It would be worth it even if only for saving me the trouble of finding a parking spot. Here you drive a car or you go by bus, but busses are always overcrowded, super hot and late. Sometimes you have to wait 30 minutes for a bus. And good luck on taking the bus in rush hours.
