Duppy Conqueror 1,534
OPERATION FOR DrogbaPosted on: Sat 24 Jul 2010Didier Drogba successfully underwent minimally invasive surgery yesterday [Friday] on the groin injury that had troubled him for some of last season. The decision to perform the procedure after his return from the World Cup was made to optimise his rehabilitation, and he is expected to return to full training in approximately three weeks. Madmax 9,219
Not a surprise, this. We knew from the back end of last season that there was going to be such an operation.
Wilson 358
Glad hes got it done now he's had a bad hernia problem for years now. Who cares if he's out for a short time after years of suffering hernia problems. All in saying is - Get well soon Drogba
LDN Blue 7,903
Damn, was hoping to see him in the Community Shield.. If he scored 37 goals last season with a minor injury, imagine how many he could score 100% fit
Steve 10,227
Very happy he has got this done now, it is well overdue. Lets hope he comes back and has a better season then the last
northernblue 2
The club had to bite the bullet with this one, it was either have him miss the start of the season or get a more serious injury in the middle of the year and miss the title run in. It is a pain but in the long term we will benefit from a fully fit Drogba later in the year
BlueLion. 21,491
I think it was the right decision. We risked having him injured for much, much longer considering the amount of games he played through injury last term.
Badboy 1,526
This was long overdue he should of got this done a long time ago, he has been playing while injured for 3 years now.
Wxgba 306
This was long overdue he should of got this done a long time ago, he has been playing while injured for 3 years now.Just wait until he's fully fit then, eh?It's about time he had surgery, though; like others have said it is long overdue. He may miss the start of the season, but I'd much rather him miss the first few games where most teams will be inconsistent anyway, as opposed to the rear-end of the season where every last point counts. We need Drogba for the run-in, and this time around, hopefully, he'll be at full match fitness.
gary gordon 1,777
Well Lads i just had a hernia op too. I will let you know how long i'm out for... Apparently the doc said i'll be back working (concreting) in a week...
gary gordon 1,777
It's been four days since my Op and i'm feeling fine. Probably go to work on Monday... If Drogba had a similar operation than i don't really see him missing the start of the season.. But than again he is 6 years my senior... Kostas 1,468
I can't understand why this surgery wasn't done straight after the World Cup,pre-season is very important in getting a player ready and Drogba might suffer from missing it. BlueLion. 21,491
Drogba is fit for the Hamburg game:"He [Drogba] is in good condition, he has recovered well from surgery so he will be able to play the next game [against Hamburg]," Ancelotti told Sky Sports News.http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11668_6289011,00.html
Manuf 1,448
How long has it been? 1 week? He could have missed game or 2 during the season...
