Jose - Blues will win title

Former boss convinced Chelsea will prevail in title race

Jose Mourinho has spoken of his confidence in Chelsea to see off Manchester United and win the Premier League title.

The Inter Milan boss, who managed Chelsea to two Premier League trophies in just more than three years at the club, built the core of the Blues' squad during his time there, with many of those players still a key part of the side.

Since Mourinho's departure in 2007, however, Chelsea have not managed to win the league title under the stewardship of Avram Grant, Luiz Felipe Scolari and Guus Hiddink.

But current boss Carlo Ancelotti will lift the title if his team can win their three remaining games, starting with a home fixture against Stoke on Sunday, an act Mourinho believes they will achieve despite a tricky away fixture against Liverpool at Anfield to come.

"I expect Chelsea to win the title," he said. "They have enough experience not to let the advantage slip with just three games to go.

"Manchester United are breathing down their throats but they would rather be in Chelsea's position and not have to rely on them to slip-up to claim a fourth successive title."

The man who proclaimed himself "The Special One" upon his arrival at Stamford Bridge in 2004, dumped this old side out of the UEFA Champions League in the second round with Inter, with Chelsea still unable to secure the European title that owner Roman Abramovich so desperately seeks.

But Mourinho's league success has left a legacy that has yet to be succeeded since his shock exit, with the Portuguese boss seeing the game at Anfield as the crunch fixture.

"Chelsea have gone a long time without winning anything of major significance and the players will not lose sight of that and what is means to the supporters of the club," he added.

"You would expect them to win their home games against Stoke and Wigan.

"The difficulty will come at Liverpool, but Chelsea will know what is at stake and they have a reasonably good record against them."

I don't think it's something we can't handle, we already won at OT and Emirates.

But its their last home game of the season they're wana give the fans something to be happy about. Then again seeing as their fans rather us win the title then Man U maybe the team think the same...probably not but wishful thinking :D

Their in 7th and quite a gap between them and Everton so will still be in Europa League..though if theres any chance of them getting 4th thats whats gana make it harder

The only reason I can think of that Liverpool would want to lose against us is because doing so would prevent United from overtaking them in the number of League titles. Liverpool have 18 at the moment, but United can surpass them with 19 if they beat us to the league.

The closer this game gets the more confident I'm becoming. We've got a 100% record this season against the other "Top 4" and I cant see it changing come Sunday.

Liverpool without Torres are toothless up front, dont let their current result against Burnley fool you. They'll have to go for it which will play right into our hands. We'll hit them on the break and destroy them and Manures chances of the title.

Chelsea 2-0 Liverpool

Chelsea 1-0 Manure

Arsenal 0-3 Chelsea

Chelsea 2-0 Arsenal

Manure 1-2 Chelsea

I'm stocking up the fridge on Saturday with plenty of jungle juice :drunk:
