Not too bothered to be honest. Not sure i would have wanted to rely on him to take England through to the next rounds. Excellent dead ball deliveries but he offeres nothing else....

Agreed. There might be a lot less media hype now -he'd become a show pony anyway.

Since Terrys been relieved of the captaincy its been a jinx -Ashley Cole, Beckham, Bridge bottling it...expect lampard and Rooney injured just before June....

It's not a disaster for England as he was merely a squad player (Rooney getting injured would be a nightmare for England)<br>But it is sad for Becks as it would have been a nice way to bow out. As it is I reckon he would do well to come back at all from this injury, it is a really serious one.<br>

I've always admired Beckham as a player, he works hard for his team and gives 110% for club and country. It is a shame that he wont play at a major tournament again, but could be a blessing for England, I want to see Milner/Young/Lennon/Walcott playing for England.
