Steve 10,227
Poor bloke, would of been good to see him play one last world cup.
EskWeston 696
Not too bothered to be honest. Not sure i would have wanted to rely on him to take England through to the next rounds. Excellent dead ball deliveries but he offeres nothing else....

Excellent dead ball deliveries but he offeres nothing else....Agreed. There might be a lot less media hype now -he'd become a show pony anyway.Since Terrys been relieved of the captaincy its been a jinx -Ashley Cole, Beckham, Bridge bottling it...expect lampard and Rooney injured just before June.... chrismada9 1,948
I saw this in the papers this morning! I feel really sorry for Becks! Get well soon!
northernblue 2
It's not a disaster for England as he was merely a squad player (Rooney getting injured would be a nightmare for England)
But it is sad for Becks as it would have been a nice way to bow out. As it is I reckon he would do well to come back at all from this injury, it is a really serious one.

Luke 60
I've always admired Beckham as a player, he works hard for his team and gives 110% for club and country. It is a shame that he wont play at a major tournament again, but could be a blessing for England, I want to see Milner/Young/Lennon/Walcott playing for England. boshman 1,073
Feel sorry for him. He deserved one last shot at the World Cup but at lets face it. He wouldn't really do much there if he went. At least now we can take someone who is actually going to make an impact.
