The only questio for pjanic is that can he defend in epl. If not we may as well play oscar in double pivot

Whats that thing about "defend in epl"? the thing is about having a system, you dont have to have big and very strong midfielders to defend well. English teams gets very confused and have difficulties when you're playing a good pressure game against them (you could even see it with us, Utd and City in Europe, becuase we arent very familier with that in the EPL), if we want to be one of the best 3-4 teams in the world we got to have that anyway, and i think playing this way will also be very effective against English opponents. If Oscar/Pjanic could defend well and play well in the double pivot in other places, they could do it in Englend (though we dont know that about Oscar).

Ryan, he is not a priority.

Once we buy a ST and DM, you can start worring about him.

CM should be top of the list, Meireles and Essien weren't replaced in the summer! I suppose need a DM too now because of Oriols injury too. Oh the joys of injuries, meaning we need to buy more players that probably won't play after Oriols back... lol

It's important for a cm to be able to cope with more physical approach in epl. It is a valid question, I don't care if he is small or big. I just want to know can he cope with the phsicality of epl

Give him time and I'm sure he will be able to cope. He's not one to go missing entirely when it comes to defending.

Would rather have camacho from malaga is a real DM and i rate him higher than pjanic. And camacho has a buyout clause so we could get him!

Can't even be compared one is a DM and the other is a CM. Both of course would have different set of qualities.

I know that but we need a DM and a couple of people were asking if he can play as a DM.

Think they were primarily asking if Pjanic can play in the pivot, not as a DM. We need someone who can sit in there and initiate attacks etc.

As I already said, Pjanic is on another level when it comes to defending compared to the likes of KDB, Josh and Oscar. He's not one of those who will chase down their opponents (like Oscar, for example) but rather use his intelligent positioning to be in the right place in beginning. His tackling has improved a lot, especially since he moved from Lyon, but for him tackling is really the last resort when defending.

Pjanic might look weak but his ability to keep balance and his lower body strenght help him to compete against stronger opponents.

Last year everyone was saying he was overrated, but now everyone wants him

I liked him since he was a Lyon player and I think he would be a great signing and a long-term replacement for Lampard. I still prefer Moutinho though, but I think Porto will want quite a lot of money for him.
