Chelsea_Fan 227
Rodwell on radar for London rivals Chelsea and Tottenham as United and City also lurkChelsea are ready to rival Tottenham in their interest in Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell. Manchester City and Manchester United are also fans of the 20-year-old England Under 21 star, but are unsure about making an offer in this window. London calling: Both Chelsea and Tottenham are interested in Jack Rodwell Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich wants to bring in exciting young talent alongside experienced targets such as Luka Modric. Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp wants a defender who can play in midfield and Rodwell, who started at centre half, fits the bill. Everton need money if they are to give David Moyes any semblance of a chance of breaking into the top five again next season and selling Rodwell, who is valued at £25million, represents their best chance. Hot property: Rodwell is currently playing for England Under 21s in Denmark Valencia have been linked with Mikel Arteta and Arsenal like Leighton Baines and Phil Jagielka but Everton would want close to £20m each for their England defenders - making a deal unlikely. Chelsea have targeted other youngsters such as Anderlecht's Romelu Lukaku, Ajax's Christian Eriksen and Kevin de Bruyne of Genk. Spurs also still want Scott Parker and Brazilian starlet Damiao of Internacional.

Sheva. 5,373
I think he is, don't really watch much of Everton, but when they play (and frustrate) us, he has been very good. Can go forward well for a DM, good on the ball, and solid defensively.25m for him is too much though, 15-20m maybe.

English players are just overpriced and overrated. little wonder most big clubs around europe would rather look elsewhere when recruiting players. LDN Blue 7,903
Jack Rodwell could be better then Sergio Busquets. We'll never realise this though, because Everton will outprice him.
Madmax 9,219
Err what? Better than Busquets? No chance. Busquets maybe a theatrical twat, but he's the best DM in the world atm.Agree with lionsden, Everton will do very well indeed if they manage to dupe someone of more than 10m for this guy.The Guardian seems to think the two Manc clubs are the frontrunners. Joker10 946
Rodwell is worth 15-18 imo, i would like us to sign him.

Blue In Green 86
The last young English prodigy from Everton ended up being pretty good. He also ended up being an ugly twat, but that's beside the point.
termninja 5,290
Rodwell is alright, but I'd rather take a more creative and technical player.
DYC. 7,542
Yeah Rodwell is a good player but we don't need him unless we buy him for the DM position but he's a CM so no. Money better spent elsewhere.

As well as Barcelona to knows that with the right training & guidance he can match up to such levels are Busquets. He's got the qualities to be like him, but they need improving, as much as I rate Moyes as a manager, I don't believe he's the person to unlock that potential. The potential is there though. Imo of course.
