Patience will be the key. Too often teams go for 300+ and end up with 220 in ODI's. Keeping wickets in hand more important in England and this team, Kohli aside, doesn't have players who can tuck in and build an innings.

Why wasn't Pujara picked again?

I wonder what Sandeep Patil is doing? No Pujara, no Praveen Kumar.

Out of all those, only Rohit Sharma should be there because he's actually a good over all player, that's yet to be given his chance.

No. Just no. He has 80+ ODIs. More than enough chances to prove himself.

Also nobody is forcing selectors to select for ODI/Test based on IPL.

Come on, let's not be so naive. How does someone like a Manpreet Gony make the Indian team? Ashoke Dinda? It's all about marketability. Take Chennai - why do so many Chennai players make the Indian squad these days? Ashwin, Vijay, Jadeja, Raina? Have any of them ever performed consistently? They're all Dhoni's chums and Dhoni likes to surround himself with these cronies. Dhoni's big boss and Chennai's owner Srinivasan is BCCI's President.

 I still believe in him. he needs to find his feet and really it's got to be 'now or never', at the age of 26 it could be the becoming of this man.

He has the talent. He has a good range of shots. For some reason, he comes to the crease like a lamb to slaughter.

As I stated in my above post we can't destroy IPL due to fucked up selectors.

Sorry m8 but I still fail to realise how IPL is destroying technique when even if there wasn't an IPL there would still be T20 around to 'destroy technique'.

Had there been no IPL, nobody would have wanted Indian players barring MSD, Yuvi, Sehwag. T20 cricket isn't to be taken seriously but people do. Whats wrong with IPL? The fact that young cricketers wants to play in IPL more rather than wait for their place and earn a test call. There is numerous post match parties and stuff hosted by team owners which in my view is totally unnecessary. As i said in the previous past, it takes up too much time, time which can be utilized for player's refreshment so when they go abroad tours, they are fit and mentally not tired of playing too much cricket.

Have you ever seen a bowler friendly pitches in a T20 game? No. Curators are told to make a track fit only for batting. Hence, when India travel abroad and face seaming conditions, we are on our knees.

yea m8 but my main part of my post was the part about Watson and Faulkner and u didn't reply that lol

Watson was allready a test cricketer and a good one at that. He didn't have to anything in IPL to earn his place in test criket.

Faulkner was allready in contention for Australian birth before he was picked up by Royals. Miller has definitely made a name for himslef in this IPL but it is yet to see whether he can do the same in test. I doubt it!!

Hmm, weird, for some reason I thought this Champions League was being held in South Africa.

Makes it even worse that it's in England. Okay pace is tough for batsmen but what you don't want to face as a batsman is a ball that's jagging about all over the place. Lateral movement is incredibly difficult to deal with and the English pitches will give them exactly that headache. Remember the cricket season hasn't started there yet so all pitches will be fresh and hence, even tougher to negotiate, especially for the Asian teams.

That's why India will struggle.

We'll go with 3 seamers and one specialist spinner. Yadav, Kumar & Ashwin most likely. Our pace bowlers aren't great (we can thank the Indian coaching set up for that one!). Ashwin will do well, but I'm not that big of a fan of him anymore, I think he's become complacent with his side in the squad - Probably because there's no competition now.

With Zaheer's sharp decline, we've lot a leader of our bowling attack. Yadav's the only one I really rate out of our selection, Irfan might do well..

What? What have you been doing in the pat week. :P England absolutely demolished NZ in the first test and boy was the ball swinging. Jimmy Anderson in the first innings and Tintin in the 2nd inning were just lethal. I mean, there hardly was a loose shot by any NZ batsman but the swing was so freaking good.

I think, Kumar could be very handy with his swing. He has a wicket in-swinging delivery and has worked on the out going as well. Ishant Sharma has to be most important bowler for me, if he does well and finds his rhythm, we could be looking to some surprises.

Ashwin seems fine to me. In a post match ceremony after we beat Australia 4-1, he said he needed a kick up the back side and he got one and has now realized his mistakes. He should be fine. The worrisome thing for me is the top order. Vijay and Dhawan are so inexperienced against Steyn and Morkel and numerous other swing bowlers. Not cool.
