Term-X 7,891
Unlike Fabio Capello or Mourinho, Ancelotti does not have a record that guarantees trophies. His CV is curiously contradictory with two Champions League titles, including the 2006-07 crushing of Manchester United and Liverpool, undermined by a poor record of only one league title and one Italian Cup in a decade at Juventus and Milan. He is not a brilliant spotter of talent or a coach with radical theories or tactics. The most interesting technical development of his eight years at the San Siro was the transformation of Andrea Pirlo into a World Cup-winning holding midfield player. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/col...icle6653244.ece ... he has a point. warnie_666 1,081
Id much rather prefer this than glorifying th manager before he even takes charge. as in case of Scolari. No one knew who Jose Mourinho was. Ok. He was this guy who won UCL and UEFA Cup with Porto but the impact he had on premier league blew everyone away. Avram. Ok most didnt like him, no one even knows whether he made the tactical decisions. But when he was appointed, everyone felt we wont qualify for Champions League. We missed the Champions league Trophy by the width of that post. Scolari. Media said the signing was a coup. They have managed to bring in a WC winner, his CV is second to none. bla bla bla. He Screwed Chelsea up totally. Hiddink...Not many expected him to turn things around the way he did but he almsot took us to finals of UCL and won us the FA Cup. Ancelloti.....Bad English, CT formation, He has no experience outside Italy. no record of trophies blablabla. Id much rather have this. Term-X 7,891
actually the press praised ancelotti in his press conference one of the press said that his english was great and that it was better than capello's and so on they all laughed at his jokes, and this one negative view is one of very few. warnie_666 1,081
I dont care whether the press laughed at his jokes or not. Cus once the Club's forms dips they will get onto his back and make his life a living hell. I hope he just delivers on the field this season. BlueLion. 21,491
What had Mourinho done before Porto? Very little. Managers, when they find the right club, settle into a policy of trophy triumph after trophy triumph. Even Ferguson didn't have the best of records heading into the United job. I expect him to last the three years his contract dictates.
EskWeston 696
It is very hard to know how a manager is going to do. But i hope that Ancelotti will go past 4 years because i do think he could build something with us. If we get the set up right around him then we can take this club in the direction we have been trying to for years now.

Stamford 3
We have got to have continuity. Old purple nose took a while at ManUre, Pedo took a little while with the Arse. We have to give the fella time, money and support. Nobody knows how he will fair in the Prem. I just hope he delivers and we can put to bed early, the press rumours of Roman will sack him soon and all the circus that went with Scolari's appointment. Elliott 7
This is a really unhealthy discussion. He's barely through the door and we want to know when he will leave? That's just plain stupid. We need to get behind the man, give him a chance.

The Big Drog 1,110
I dont see why he cant last. His CV shows that he has not been very successful domestically though you have to take into consideration that AC Milan were affected by the match fixing scandal for 2 of those years. You also need to factor in that Berlusconni does not usually splash out cash for players , thus why his Milan side was so old by the end of his run there. He doesnt really need to have an eye for talent because he works undr a technical director though he is responsible for the development of Kaka and Pato. Personally I think he is one of the top managers in world football. While Scolari had some obvious tactical flaws that really did derail him , Ancelotti doesnt.
