francozola 2,040
We will probably never know until Jose releases a proper autobiography but I do think there were some tensions behind the scenes between him and JT. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Jose wanted to drop him which led to the whole fiasco

The cynics and pessimists are really out for it lately. Cringeworthy. I can imagine other fans coming on here and laughing at us. Absolute embarrassment. How can you believe with certainty that JT had nothing to do with it? Jose has never come out and said it but he had nothing whatsoever to gain by doing so. We simply don't know in that case. Naive to believe one way or the other completely
zolayes 14,489
Exactly its all speculation.Next thing people will start making stuff up like journalists, or autobigraphical ghost writers, and where would we be then ?we would be in deep shit ,,,,oh but we are
manpe 10,861
exactly, we don't know for fact, but we can discuss because there is basis for discussion (the whole point of the forum)... and if you have an opinion on it, fine, it's a constitutional right to have and express it.. but i won't be ridiculing everybody who has a different pov. and especially with the latest sacking, it looks similar to that case and is even more relevant now.it is word against word... one has nothing to gain, the other would have everything to lose if he admitted to the accusations. BlueLion. 21,491
Do you still believe so? I posted that two years ago.And yes, I fucking do. What I don't expect is for them to completely humiliate the manager, the club and the fans.

What I don't expect is for them to completely humiliate the manager, the club and the fans.I strongly believe that we have a very very powerful lobbyist group at Chelsea. They're the older players who pick and choose which manager is to their taste or not. Terry, Lampard, A.Cole and Cech is what I suspect, Drogba and Essien and a few others are neutral in my opinion. This lobby group have so much power and I suspect they are very close to Roman, if you look at Man utd their owners are hardly ever there and you can't tell me any of the players at City have Sheikh Mansour's telephone number...... they are completely detached from the club and I like it like that. You can see various photo's of the players on Roman's yacht and I don't like that. If you look at most companies and business's you will see the owner does not strike a close relationship with his employee's, its because there are sooooo many problems that can arise from that. First they will have a drink with you and slowly but surely they will get so close to you personally that any new Manager or supervisor that is employed is weaker then the company employee who is supposed to listen to the manager. BlueLion. 21,491
I'm concerned that Terry was ringing Abramovich to try and save Mourinho's job. No player should have contact with the owner.

capriccioso 2,545
Drogba is by no means neutral, he was responsible together with Ballack and Cech in the sacking of Big Phil. But he's accepted he's not quite good enough these days to play at the highest level regularly. I doubt he was involved in the Villas-Boas coup, because he seems resigned to the fact he's not an automatic starter anymore. His temperament has improved no end since Torres joined, and thats great for the club.

Badboy 1,526
Yes but its just silly, Roman also ''Officiated Drogba's wedding'' I mean for fucks sake. The new manager has to contend with a group of players who are Roman's pals and if he doesn't do what THEY like then there will be conversations between the players and owner which is unhealthy. I prefer it the Glazer/Mansour way of completely detaching themselves from the club and letting the football people run it. No player should have the owners telephone number or email address and they should only report to the manager, we pay the manager to manage the team. I remember when Real Madrid had the Spanish lobby group in their dressing room it was Raul who was the leader in our case it's probably John Terry, Raul and Casillas basically managed the club for years. kiaretta985 131
and two years ago Mourinho came to Madrid and got rid of both Raul and Guti. if the senior players keep acting like they're best friends with the owner (and vice versa) I don't think we can get rid of them easily.
