World Cup 2026

''Staged just a mile from the White House, Friday's World Cup draw will have a distinctly political feel.

The glittering ceremony will take place at the Kennedy Center, the famous Washington arts venue now chaired by US President Donald Trump after he overhauled its board this year.

Proceedings seem to have been planned with the US president very much in mind.

Seventies group Village People have been booked to play YMCA, a Trump favourite that is regularly heard at his campaign rallies. And, in a break with tradition, the draw ceremony will feature the awarding of a new Fifa Peace Prize, with Trump widely expected to be the recipient.

Such gestures will only underline the alliance forged between the US president and Fifa counterpart Gianni Infantino, who announced the award last month after claiming that Trump deserved to win the Nobel Peace Prize for his contribution to the Israel-Gaza ceasefire, and enthusiastically praising his policies.

Such moves are a threat to Fifa's commitment to political neutrality, one enshrined in its statutes, and risk turning the draw - and the tournament itself - into propaganda tools.

They believe Infantino and Trump are effectively too close for comfort, and that it sends a message that world football's governing body is aligning with the Make America Great Again (Maga) movement, and endorsing what many feel is a divisive administration. Is it wise, they ask, that Fifa is seen to associate so closely with a man who only this week made disparaging comments about Somalis, describing them as "garbage"?

Supporters hoping to attend next year's World Cup final face paying vast prices, with tickets starting at £3,119. Fuck that.

Get ready for camera shots of 'the crowd' so called 'models' (whores), rich cunts, Trumps feral family looking bored, and rows of empty seats...

England tickets to cost ten times price promised in World Cup bid

Fifa announced that cheapest tickets available for group games will be $220, but initial bid from US, Canada and Mexico included seats for $21

The FA will contact Fifa to pass on fans’ concerns after it emerged that the cheapest tickets for England supporters next year’s World Cup are more than ten times the price promised in the original bid for the United States, Canada and Mexico to host the tournament.

Fifa has announced that the cheapest tickets available to members of the official England fans’ club for group matches are $220 (£165) — the bid document’s ticket model stated the cheapest seats should be $21 (about £15.70).

Even more astonishingly, the bid document on Fifa’s website puts the lowest price for the final at £95 but the cheapest ticket being offered to England fans for the final is £3,129, more than 30 times higher. Some insiders think that there is a strong chance England may not even sell out their 8 per cent allocation per match for some games.

It's not just all social media account information for the past 5 to 10 years you will have to turn over to the US Feds to be allowed into the country.

It now looks like visitors to the US from Europe and other countries that are part of the visa waiver program will have to submit an enormous amount of data about themselves and their families, including DNA, when Trump's proposed new rules are put into place.

Since I live in Buffalo the closest stadium for me is Toronto, I put for the match of Ghana vs Panama as it's cheaper and the knockout stage that would be second place from K vs second place from L.

I'm not driving far to watch the match and insane prices so I will just stay close to home.

If I can attend an openining match for a team even though they are so so and a knockout stage we will be happy.

Probably a chance I get to see Colombia play if they finish runner up in the group and if we get the two options that I put for those two games.

'Anger and disappointment' as fans priced out of World Cup

The price of following a team all the way through the tournament has increased significantly since the last World Cup in Qatar

Supporters are continuing to speak of their frustration at the astronomical cost of following the 2026 World Cup.

The Football Supporters' Association has called ticket prices a "laughable insult" to fans.

For some smaller nations, the cost of group-stage tickets is going to be higher than a month's wages in that country. And that is before factoring in travel and accommodation.

One Ghana fan told the BBC of "anger and disappointment" that Black Stars supporters might now be forced to cancel their plans.

Fifa's ticket price policy was revealed on Thursday, with group-stage tickets up to three times the prices of those for Qatar in 2022. The cheapest ticket for the final will cost £3,119.

BBC Sport has contacted Fifa for comment.

You've bought your tickets, how about the flights?

Any fan wanting to follow their team from the first game to the final - if they get there - will spend a minimum of £5,200 on tickets.

There there's travel. For an England fan planning to attend the group stage, current prices show flights from London to Dallas to Boston to New York/New Jersey and then home are £1,300. Add on £526 if you get the cheapest match tickets.

It gets a lot more expensive if you want to go for the whole tournament. If they were winners of Group L, England would have to go from Atalanta to Mexico City and then to Miami. Those two flights alone would cost £800.

Flights across the tournament could cost £2,600. Add on the cheapest match tickets, and it is £7,800.

What about Scotland fans travelling from Glasgow? Flights across the group stage would cost £1,675 each, with the lowest ticket price bracket £500 on top.

If Scotland were to win Group C, flights through to the final would be £2,357. With tickets that is £7,567.

These prices are as of today. Many supporters would not want to book flights for the knockout rounds before they know they need to travel. By then, it could be a lot more expensive.
