Magic Lamps 11,692
Has to be one of the worst places ever to hold a summer tournament outdoors. Ancient dilapidated stadiums without roofs or AC, scorching heat and cancelling games because of a bunch of clouds on the horizon. then ofc fifa has as always completely botched the admin stuff, selected the worst refs, kick off times, scared off the fans with their extortionate pricing Edited June 28 by Magic Lamps

How fucking stupid Sets a dangerous precedent. What next ? Yellow cards because 'he looked at me funny, he was going to foul me' Based on what they are saying in the studio it sounds like this is standard procedure in this stadium. This is typical summer thunderstorms in late afternoon I get that, but surely games weren't being halted in the 60's/70's. Was there an actual instance where something bad happened for this to be actually introduced or just a precaution that came up with?

Should have played it in a serious footballing country, proper stadiums, filled with fans. YorkshireBlue

I played in a cricket game where we waited too long to get off with lightning threatening. It was pretty scary.

Prince once played one of his most epic sets during a thunderstorm at halftime in a Super Bowl. They asked Prince if he wanted to delay or cancel? Prince said make it storm harder! Zaphod just explained - but surely thats for the American Football players wearing all that lightning conducting gear ? FIFA should have checked. Anyway if Benfica scores twice in 4 minutes it will be a travesty. Also DAZN coverage - mostly one big advert with football thrown in.

It just seems odd considering the weather we deal with in the UK - Got fans almost naked in -0c~ conditions. I just feel there has to be an ounce of common sense. 2 minutes ago, Fulham Broadway said: Anyway if Benfica scores twice in 4 minutes it will be a travesty. The main reason I hate watching sports in most countries overseas. Edited June 28 by LAM09
DDA 9,973
I wouldn’t judge Delaps performance too much tonight.. he wasn’t great but the heat looked like it was taking its toll on him. He wasn’t great struggling in that big stocky frame. Took his offside goal well though.
