Wow, big decision there, wonder if it means we're going to see a CB or two leave *cough* Disasi + Bada*cough*, though I will say Colwill hasn't covered himself in glory this year. May seem harsh and yes I know we're learning as a team, doing very well vs expectations/progress but he has not impressed me at all this season, positionally so as well, distribution aside.

Cannot claim to have seen anything of this lad beyond the typical 'Welcome to Chelsea Random Player' compilation, as I read in another thread someone said that the scouts deserve credit, and they do, so I'll continue to trust their judgement.

In my opinion Colwill is the worst defender and biggest liability from our best XI - he for sure deserves to be in the XI, because of the low quality we have at CB right now, but he is the worst of that XI imo.

Any normal top team would have him out on loan still - he's 21, and does not have high football IQ or defensive ability (tackling / positioning / decision making). Everything will be fixed with time - his ceiling is probably not THAT high given he clearly lacks football IQ but in his mid 20s I expect he will be a very decent PL CB because experience will paper over the cracks to a decent extent, and his ball playing ability will carry him (especially if he adds better decision making there too - he could become a menace).

Question remains should we be bedding these guys in directly at Chelsea or not. The clubs view clearly is in the end it is better to do it and let them develop and bond with the rest of the squad. I can see the merits of that.

I was reading that he is rated the highest CB in South America. Not really sure what that means…potential or current performance?

Yeah, there is only so much of the Disaster Bros (Disaster and Tosin) we can watch. I think it is clear that the club were thinking of having him out on loan for the year but as he will likely walk into the team here if he is half decent, he may as well come back. Hopefully Disaster is shipped out. He isn't even squad filler level.

If he cant get a game ahead of Disasi or Tosin then we should be seriously worried. He may be a bit raw and physically not that well developed but surely cant be as bad as those two.

The worst of it is I think Tosin is worse than Disasi - which I thought was near impossible. Fulham can have him back for free.

Disaster is one of the worst players I have seen down Chelsea in my 35 years+ of going. Tosin isn't great and at very best should be a CB4/5 type that only players dead rubber/lower ranked teams and in an emergency. However, he is nowhere near Disaster bad, even if I do call them them the Disaster Bros as a collective.

As for Anselmino, let's see how things go. Really it would be good to see him at the weekend but that may be a bit too soon as he has just arrived.

agree

Tosin is nowhere near as poor a player as Disasi

and Tosin is hardly a great CB

Should have stayed in Boca to play regularly and CWC. What was the point of bringing him in January?

Absolute mystery. Hoping he can pull an Ivanovic where he sits around for months/a year then takes his chance and doesn't look back.
