I'd rather buy Neymar over Aguero for the plain reason that we don't need another striker, let alone a £40m-striker.

Same was said about Torres when he was at Atletico Madrid. And there are some mighty good players upfront in the ARG NT. Hard to sit Messi or Tevez down.

I'm not saying Aguero is the right player for Chelsea and his price may indeed be inflated but I wouldn't dismiss his talent. And he's not like Tevez. Like Torres when he was at AM, Kun is known as a serious and mature professional.

In general I support player movement, as a Torres fan, it would be hypocritical of me to not otherwise. But if I were a AM fan, I'd be pretty upset if Aguero left to join another team that's not even in European play. It's almost as bad as going to Real Madrid.

Thats why, despite all the talk about a move for a strong club in Europe, he is staying in Atletico, because you won't find any club willing to pay his asking price, 40m.

Atletico paid 23m euros for Aguero, of course will only sell him for more than 30m euros. He never did anything special in Spain to even justify the money Atletico paid for a player who never played in Europe before, and now we are supposed to pay 40m euros ?

I assume this is a reference to Tevez, who single-handedly kept West Ham in the PL a few years back and hoisted a duct-taped Man City side into CL qualifiers. He may complain about his homesickness every now and then, but that never shows on the field. He looks fine to me out there.

It was 20M plus Luis Garcia and I think the deal eventually topped out around 26M.

Maybe AM realized how cheaply Torres went and don't want to be duped again? And not that I agree, but many consider Aguero to have had a better AM career than Torres did. The statistics certainly back it up.

Finally, Torres went in 2007. The transfer market has changed a bit since then...Ronaldo, Kaka, Torres, etc.

There's no football player who worths 40m, in my honest opinion. The prices are way too big nowadays.

If you are saying Aguero is not proven, than Neymar is most definitely not. I dunno he might become one of the best players in the world, but im not that impressed with them wanting us to spend 40m on him. He gets knocked of the ball far too easy, he also losses the ball far too much, he dives ( and i know you said that south americans dont mind, but jesus if hes that good he shouldnt have to cheat), and lastly he has one of the worst attitudes in football, like when he never passed the ball to his team mates for the whole match. Haha him being incosistent in the past is absolutely normal. He just turned 23, 2 June, not every player can be like R9 or Messi (as in, consistently world-class at a very young age). Cristiano didn't become world-class until he was 23 and look at him now. Or what about Dinho and Zidane? And no I'm not saying Aguero will reach that level with all certainty, though he has all the talent to do so.

And his goal-scoring record, see Terry07's post, is highly impressive for someone was 18-22 during that time, mostly playing as a second striker and not even playing for a world-class side.

He was absolutely class last season, and that in a poor Atletico side.
