It's a sobatage if Jose continues to pick players who are directly responsible for our horrendous form (result wise). As a manager, part of your job is to identify the factors responsible for poor performance/output and make effort to fix it and at the moment, Ivanovic is one of those factors and if jose can't see or won't do anything about it then he is willing to sacrifice the team's success all in the name of favoritism. And that's a sabotage as harsh as that sounds.

"Another defender facing a tough time is Branislav Ivanovic. The 31-year-old right-back, who has been one of Chelsea’s best performers in recent seasons, is out of contract next year and is upset he has only been offered a one-year deal."

Haha, if this is actually true Branislav can kindly go to PSG as soon as possible please. He's hardly proving anyone wrong with those performances, that's saying the very least.

How he can be upset when Terry is more than happy to accept the same is just laughable

We should be happy if that's true. Doesn't even deserve a contract extension, not even one year, after the way he has been performing.

I really wouldn't be surprised if he ended up signing a 2-year contract.

Tbh I defended Ivan last two seasons because I believe that his bad displays were quite exagarated, first half of last season he was back to the player we saw under Ancelotti.

However recently he has been absolutely terrible, Iddon't think its his fault I think he is just naturally declining but he needs to be phased out.

All of you are bunch of plastics for criticizing Ivanovic and wanting him benched. He was arguably the league best RB last season + pl. winner.

Stay behind the team and the player.

We fully support the team and Ivanovic and I agree last year he was absolutely fantastic but up to now he has been so poor that benching him for a number of games will most likely be beneficial in waking him up and keeping him focused again. He has the talent but he needs to work hard and keep focused..

Also he looks like he has lost a huge amount of pace and acceleration which as a RB is key IMO. So unless he can improve this in training it may be ideal to have him as a backup CB or RB as the last option..

Where does the line get drawn in terms of allowing criticism after so many shit performances?

The guy is declining, and has lost all his speed already. It's only natural that he'll be even slower next season given his age. We need to move on eventualy.
