Panathinikos Barcelona Lyon/ Bayern Juventus possibly Arse or Porto ? I would like Ten Crates bunch of rioters, or a trip maybe to lyon, but we'll probably go out to Barca

chrismada9 1,948
I want Panathinaikos Probably the easiest draw we can get, will probably have to put up with Gilberto Silva, but still, they're probably the easiest of the lot

terry26 6
this time round tho it won't be MOURINHO vs RIJKAARD so barca v Chelsea wont really have the same spice Edited December 10, 2008 by terry26
warnie_666 1,081
this time round tho it won't be MOURINHO vs RIJKAARD so barca v Chelsea wont really have the same spice True, but still, its a tie that most neutrals want to see. If we have fit essien and drogba and joe cole and riccy, I wouldnt mind taking on the Cataln giants. But with the current squad we have, i would prefer Panathanaikos. Kez 2,727
With our squad back to full strength then we'll have more of a chance against Barca.
BlueLion. 21,491
I'd take any team, to be honest, sooner or later we're gonna have to face the bigger teams. Wouldn't fancy the away leg being second, at the Allianz, Stade Gerland or the Camp Nou though - I'd rather not face Bayern, Lyon or Barca till the latter rounds, but so be it. BlueLion. 21,491
The teams we can face: Bayern Munich Panathinaikos Barcelona Porto Juventus We can't play Roma as they were in our group, nor can we play Manchester United or Liverpool as they are part of the same confederation. Aesthetic Relic 301
If we're fortunate to get through the next phase, we should have Essien back and praying we dont get any more injuries we could come on strong in the 2nd half of the season. It pains me to say it but Drogba could be the man to turn our season around. He looks like he's on a mission to prove alot of people wrong. He didnt fall over once on Tuesday night. That must be some kind of record ffs

terry26 6
exactly i may not be happy with him after the CL final but he's a Chelsea striker and has done alot for the club so he deserves our backing and with our current squad playing the way they are in the CL i dont Barca is a team we would want i dont think Chelsea fans would have a problem with Juve, Claudio was (and still is) a loved character here and he's not a vengeful one so he wouldnt' turn it into a revenge match Edited December 11, 2008 by terry26
Fulham Broadway 17,487
Was it painful that DD helps a lot in our back-to-back title winning seasons? Was it painful he scored the goals that won us the FA Cup & The Carling? Theres definitely a split with the fans. To me hes a Chelsea legend, and a responsible for a lot of the silverware. I dont care if he dyes his hair pink and throws tissy fits -surely winning the game is the important thing, rather than a load of media driven persecution ?
