Blue-in-me-Veins 4,067
Not sure how I feel about his attitude, he rubs me the wrong way. Not to mention the wages he wants to be paid will destroy our wage structure.having said all that, he does have tremendous potential, but im not sure he belongs at CFC. DYC. 7,542
Sterling has a long way to go. It's still flashes of quality for the most part, which is not surprising at his age. While I would welcome him, he would not improve the team. If anything, he would need time to grow as a player and reach the necessary consistency. That means him disappearing from time to time, dealing with a lot more pressure to perform which affects his game. I remember Hazard being labled inconsistent last season, and Sterling is not even close to the Hazard of last season. And I can see his fee and wages being a problem. 30+ mil? He's a rookie and he hasn't shown anything in the extreme talent wise. He's no Messi back when he was that age. Even Rooney was better. And the wages you read... He would be among the top earners at the club. That's crazy.I'd much rather see a player joining that's already proven his quality personally. And let's be honest, English 'wonderkids' have the tendency to disappoint. I think Rooney was the last one to actually become a top player. Rooney's breakthrough was back in 2004. Blue Colored Sky 1,807
Just spend 27 minutes watching his interview. Now I know what the fuss is about.Would love to have him here. Quality, English and tracks back ? BTW he's really native English ? Because he speaks English just like Messi speaks Spanish like if he has some problems with that. Special Juan 28,141
This lad offers offers pace and width, not only does he offer this but he is very direct. The right side is an issue for me, a big issue, and if we can somehow deal with the right side of our team I think we are good to go. I'd shackle Azpi back at RB and have this lad ahead of him offering pace and width and without asking him to do fucking donkey work every single time. I'm using Sterling as an example here with it being the right thread, but this goes for this one position, it needs addressing for me because Willian, while he might be Jose's perfect attacker and tracker back, something has to give. hamad138 190
We have to see..In premier league u have big spaces to dribble, in other top teams its all closed down.I want to see how he would do if a teams parks the bus , how he will dribble past it and how he will coup with elite defenders. In CL he couldnt go trough basel players.. LondonsFinest 692
Let's remember we have Cuadrado. So Sterling should come, only if we are to ship Oscar or Willian. Don't want another KDB fiasco. Or he can come, but I don't exactly see Jose dropping two straight starters and giving Hazard a free role so that we can play something like a Sterling-Hazard-Cuadrado/Willian thing. I'd love him here to be fair, think he stands out from the typical English boring idiocracy(in terms of play, that is), along with Chamberlain, Kane and Barkley. He doesn't have the brighest vision for a pass, but as Special Juan said, his directness is really something. Given that, he is little, cunning and a talented player. Nobody can tell me, he is THAT overrated. Yes, Liverpool fans were ahead of themselves saying he is better than Bale(when at Tottenham), but don't they always do that? It will be an interesting summer. And considering we have to fill a HG quota, I don't think Rob Green will be the only English player we are about to sign. Walcott/Sterling/Clyne/Bale, even James Milner is an option, if we need a back-up all rounder.
Gilvorak 3,734
Why does he have a bad attitude exactly? Because he has ambition & doesn't want to stay in Liverpool?Would prefer Fekir or Brahimi a lot more than him, they're far more talented imo. Thats in case we're not going for Koke. He's miles better than Fekir and Brahimi and more importantly Willian & Cuadrado. He's exceptionally quick, skillful, unlike the foreign talent everyone overrates (Depay, Anderson) has fantastic close control, strong, excellent movement, extremely versatile, tracks back, creative & has exceptional end product for a player his age. BlueLyon 9,359
Its plain simple. If kid wants trophies, he will join us and accept normal wages. If he is bullshiting just to get more money, he can stay at liverpool for next 10 years for all I care.Good talent, but no end product. I feel we need some experience atm, a player who will give more to the team in terms of quick efficient play instead of 10 tricks and dribbles per game. Stats 7,142
He has the wrong attitude, don't like him.Why does he have the wrong attitude? Because he wants to wait till the end of the season and evaluate his options? He is already a key player of that team and is arguably one of the best players there along with Coutinho and Sturridge. If he signs this new contract his role in that team will increase and he wants to see how ambitious the team are. He wants to win trophies. Say if Liverpool don't get into the top 4, they are most likely to miss out on key players. They missed out on Sanchez to Arsenal even though they were willing to pay up to the same wages if not more for him yet they were in the UCL. Can you imagine without the UCL, the big players they will miss out to us, City and United? All these things will weigh up in his mind and I also think he wants to see where his role in the team lies. He is not happy playing WB. He sees himself best in the advanced positions. That is why he simply has said he wants to wait till the end of the season to analyse everything which is totally understandable. He's started a contract saga and then done an interview with the BBC without telling anyone at his club. Do we really want a player like that? He did not. He basically confirmed what BR has said and admitted he turned down the £100,000 p/w contract and I think a lot of the interview was a message to the Liverpool fans who probably view him as a mercenary. Majority of people have built up an image of him, mainly through the media which has been frustrating for Sterling as he has not once spoken on why yet people are building a negative opinion on him.As the reporter Natalie Pirks said: "I've interviewed Raheem Sterling before and he comes across as quiet and considered, certainly shy around the television cameras. This time it was much the same, but I could sense palpable frustration at everything that has been said and written about him recently. More upsetting for him was the way some Liverpool fans now perceive him as a mercenary. He saw this interview as a chance to put the record straight". RoyalBlues 4,050
Not so sure we need another winger since Hazard has established himself and we have Willian and Cuadrado. But if he is available, we have a good chance to sign him.

Sterling could be a good option not only HG and English but also has settling well in PL.
Gilvorak 3,734
I think people underrate him because he's black and English. Because of that people assume he's another Lennon & Wright-Phillips rather than a Hazard or Neymar.Technically, he's clearly better than the likes of Reus, Depay, Bale, Anderson, Chamberlain etc. And I don't understand the "he doesn't have end product" accusations. You can probably count on one hand the amount of 20 year old wingers not just this season but over the last 10 years that are more productive than Sterling at the same age. We've had fecking Willian playing for us for 2 seasons yet people accuse Raheem of lacking end product. I don't believe it.
