LDN Blue 7,903
Having another 20 y.o. kid with chicken attitude wont improve us. Maybe in five years when he grows up.Take that 20yo with chicken attitude, add on Jose Mourinho and you might not have to wait 'five years'. pakito 17
You mean facts and objectivity, rather than subjectivity and eye tests. Well, in that case, when in an argument one side gets tired of objectivity, it's time to end it. Can you just close your computer and go away, you obnoxious little shit. We get it you dont like Sterling, but rest of us dont wanna see bumped threads just to find out 1 little angry man trying to force his opinion on everyone. Stats 7,142
So? Does it excuse him missing sitter after sitter? Even Torres managed to score one or two good goals. Loading up a team with terrible finishers is a bad idea.Look at my post on Sterling a few pages earlier. He has missed sitters but also has done some quality finishing. He is 20 ffs and he has got into double figures two seasons running. He can improve on his finishing but like I said before, he is capable of scoring quality goals as well. I already stated the games. As you keep postings gifs and stats of Sterling, have a look at some of the goals he has scored. Let me remind you again, he is 20 and there are not much players in his age bracket who have accomplished what he has done. He is only going to get better. It looks like he will go City where he is playing with better players. The quality will show like it did when he was playing with Sturridge and Suarez. ulsterchelsea 3,221
Two more pages in couple hours...i thought we made a formal bid or sth...instead i find shitload of posts how many dribbles and goals sterling made in comparison to other players...Always the way on here now. Going down hill rapidly I'm afraid
BlueLyon 9,359
Take that 20yo with chicken attitude, add on Jose Mourinho and you might not have to wait 'five years'.I like Sterling, in fact he COULD develop in realy fantastic player, but IMO he is not what we need right now. Long term yes and with Mou, it could and probably would work, but its not guarantee. While I highly rate Mou, he is not specialist for young players. He did great with few players like Varane, but he is not magician in this. He signed Joe Cole who was pretty much in similar situation; talent wise and potential like Sterling is now, but it didnt work well. Not bad, but certainly not as people expected.IMO Mourinho is alot better with experienced players, he gives them mental boost, bite, desire to show it and those players return him 120 percent of it. They have the consistency, experience, something Mourinho knows how to use to improve these players. Sure its not guarantee either, but Mou has alot better record with older players, on peak or even past it than young talents. For example, our current team was poor against PSG. Quite a few players kinda dissapointed. Maybe they dont have enough experience to do it, and we need to bring players that are reliable. One knows how good talent Sterling is, but can he be trusted to lead us, push us forward in key CL game? I dont think so. Arda for example, or any similar player, might not be as flashy, young as Sterling, but you know he will give 110 percent for the team, he will die on that pitch and wont give up till final whistle. Sometimes this fighting spirit inspires other players in great way, alot more than some youngster trying to prove himself with little dribbles.I would be happy with either, Turan, Sterling or someone similar, but as much I know football, Chelsea and Mou, experienced top player would do us alot more good than young talented player for next two seasons. Unless our club goal is to keep with PL titles and when team grows we push for CL aswell. But I think Mou will go hard to win CL next season or at least get into finals. Honestly for that challenge, my pick would be Turan (or similar skill, experience wise player) ahead of Sterling (or any similar talent). Mechromancer 262
No at all, i believe. In my opinion, is more easy, if you're really good, you have your chance. He doesn't have any age preference. Even in the big games. Sterling doesn't have a place in the starting eleven? Obviously yes, i think. If he is gonna perform well or not, is the same. No preferences at all. Mourinho isn't a specialist in youngers or veterans. He failed in order to do great things for good veterans and good youngsters. And at the opposite, is the same situation. cfcs most wanted 657
Sterling is the perfect example of how English players could be both overrated and underrated. On one hand people say that he is worth 50m and on the other hand some people say he is a poor player and just overrated because he is english. good is a fair description of him not bad not great but good

He has all the workrate and defensive nouse of Willian with more threat going forward. The biggest stumbling block would surely be his price more than anything. LDN Blue 7,903
I think Sterling will end up at City and he will be playing in a much better team. I think he will score a lot of goals down there. Considering how well he done when he had Suarez, Sturridge and Coutinho around him, with the likes of Silva, Aguero, Toure and possibly more quality additions, I think his game will go up another level.Thought I'd move this to here, before we clog Oscar's thread up anymore lmao. But yeah I do agree that at City he will be a success, but even here at Chelsea he would do well. With Fabregas in the team, either alongside Matic or further forward, Sterling could thrive of the service. He'll also add another dimension by interchanging sides with Hazard as we used to see Hazard do with Willian. With Chelsea's, respectable, position of not going beyond £40m it is likely that City will prevail. But it would be a great coup if Chelsea can secure his signature despite Manchester offering more in wages.
LondonsFinest 692
With a front three of Hazard, Willian/Sterling, Sterling/Cuadrado, I firmly believe we'd be immense. Pace and deadly dribble on the counter. Creativity and flair in terms of build up attack, coming from Fabregas too. Don't see any reason why we shouldn't at least try for him. That being said, I believe City will try to get him, even if it means 50 mil. down the drain. BlueLyon 9,359
What difference does 40m or 50m present anyway? Both is already big overpaying for current Sterling anyway. If Sterling performs well, 50m will be well spent. If he flops, then 40m what we are ready to pay is already too much in first place.
