It's easy to panic after results like today, but I really hope that Lampard and the club remain calm like he said in his press conference this week and only buy if the price and opportunity are right in this window.

The best players, unless it is very exceptional circumstances, are simply not available in January and/or not willing to change clubs mid-season. 

We cannot afford to settle on players in this window based on availability over quality. The 2017 summer window, followed by the 2018 January window feels like it pushed the club back 3-4 years. Besides Rudiger and Barkley, the rest have already been bombed out on loan, struggling to offload or are no more than squad players currently who we'd be happy to offload. 

We're nowhere near as strong in the transfer market as we once were and with FFP, etc mistakes are much more difficult to absorb. We have a high quality academy that we're finally starting to bear some fruit from but this will take time. At the very least though it has shown this season that the squad can lean on these players to provide depth and hopefully in time develop into high quality players. What that should allow us to do is stop buying stop gaps, squad fillers and panic buys and instead focus on a couple of high quality additions each summer who will instantly lift the entire club. This is not going to happen in this window and if we blow big transfer fees with a short term view this month, then they won't happen in the summer either.

Add him to the list of the first targets: Werner, Sancho. Chilwell, Soumare and a another winger to replace Willian if/when the downing tools twat walks on a free, plus Dembele is Werner is a fail

And that is NOT even buying ANY CB's, any new b/u GKer, another LB, any RB's, no 3rd CF, no CMF.

Zero chance of us dropping well over half a billion quid gross (NOT even counting those insane salaries) on transfer fees in this and the summer 2020 windows.

Yes Havertz would probably cost €100m, but he has a world class potential and personally i rate him above Mount and RLC. Oblak already rejected us once and he don't want to leave Atletico. I'm fine with not buying any GK and CB yet since other positions  like LB, ST, AM, and RW are far more important right now.

We all want the money spent wisely and the right player brought in, but i think its at the point now where Frank just wants a striker.   Not saying he will settle for anyone, but with 2 weeks left we cant be very picky, really.  Clubs will want to replace whoever we try and sign; and if they are happy to sell a striker without a replacement,  you just know he is not performing, at all

 

 And its ok saying wait until the summer but you need top 4 to attract the top quality players.... thats far from certain right now with us.  If we do not get top 4, those Drinkwater, Baba Rahman, Bakayoko signings return.   Top players want CL

 

I really think we need  a creative 10 aswell

 

I honestly do not think its going to be Dembele, as i said earlier.  Or Gabigol.. I've no idea who it could be, i'd try for Piatek on a loan myself

As of now we just have tammy reece and probably jorginho who fit the team long term..mount was good at start of the season post which he is playing casual football

We need 8 new players over next 2- 3 windows to make our team competirive again

Out of 8 atleast we need to buy 1 more starter in this window

I agree with you except Piatek part. 

PSG set 30m euros price for Cavani. I know he's old and all but fuck it we are in situation where he would be so useful. Atletico offered only 10m, let's win that race. 20m is going to be enough. 

And for AM go for Isco or James on loan. Real would accept it. Two experienced players like them would be essential in games like today. Abraham and Mount are going on the bench but I don't care.
