RB Leipzig is close to sign Josip Sutalo from Dinamo Zagreb. The transfer will be €18m + add-ons. Sutalo would remain at Dinamo Zagreb until Summer 2023 and would serve as a replacement for Josko Gvardiol, who would leave for Chelsea.

solid young Croat CB

Leipzig know what the fuck they are doing

superbly run club (as are most of their other global empire clubs)

we are criminally mismanaged compared to PSG (and that includes the mad as ass Mbappe shite, as he is the best player on the planet and his staying, IMHO, is the main shot they have at winning the CL finally and half a billion is chump change to the Qataris, plus we are going to likely lose £700-750m due to Marina's cumulative shite since 2016 onwards)

they are doing it all in a SHIT league too!

their main draw (before the 2 wild (the only 2 they ever made) buys of Neymar and Mbappe, plus now Pessi as a draw) was 'play/live in Paris'

Let's not change the narrative with PSG. For years they've spent ridiculous sums of money chasing a dream to win the Champions League so to say we're criminally mismanaged compared to PSG I think isn't right.

However, this shift this summer from them in my opinion is incredibly clever. You're spot on with this, they've made some very sensible buys without spending stupid money. They have hired an experienced director of football with a very strong track record, and similarly a highly rated manager but without the big name. It's the start of a cultural shift which won't happen overnight but ironically I think could well take them closer to winning the Champions League than they've ever got to before. For Campos in particular too, it must be a refreshing change that he's not buying talent in the knowledge of selling them on for profit in a couple of years, but instead hoping he's now at a club capable of retaining these players if they realise their potential.

The key for them will be when there are bumps in the road, will they revert back to type or back the process. In previous years, we've shown time and again we'd revert back to type, to what we know and are comfortable with. It's shown success but it's also damaged us being able to sustain success.

We do definitely need to sort out the structure at our club. A director of football is going to be key to properly rebuilding the club.

So the problem with the Arsen is purely the bank and the money transfer? Or will a work permit be a problem too?

probably both, plus the FA signing off on a 'dirty Russian' (not dirty as in corrupt for this player, obviously, just that he is a Russian, and in today's' climate they are like jews under Hitler to the NATO world)

again, remove the 2 OTT buys (Neymar, Mbappe)

add in Nuno Mendes (great buy)

look at the long term net spend

other than those 2 huge buys

it is not like they went completely batshit cray at all

their big (£40m and up) buys were

Mbappe £162m

Neymar £200m

and then

Hakimi (grrrr) £59m

Icardi (semi bust) £45m

Di Maria (superb buy) £57m

David Luiz (but only cost them around £15m net spend due to us stupidly buying him back)

Cavani (superb buy) £58m

they only paid

£28m for Marquinhos

£38m for a 27yo Thiago Silva

£11m for Verratti

£19m for a prime Zlatan

£5.4m for Meunier

£7.2m for Blaise Matuidi

£9m for Lo Celso (more than doubled their money)

No doubt they've made some good signings amongst too, but some of them are going back 10 years. At the time £38m was still big money for a centre back when they bought Thiago Silva, and the Marquinhos buy was also big money at the time for a largely unproven young player. Both worked out multiple times over, similar to Verratti and Zlatan amongst others.

But going back over the last 10 years, Chelsea could similarly pin up some incredible signings - Hazard, Courtois, Azpilicueta, Kante, Diego Costa, Fabregas, etc

It's that lure for PSG to go for the big name that can be marketed. Can they move away from that model and look for something ultimately more sustainable. That will remain to be seen.

I wonder if the club is at least reconsidering the CR7 situation. To buy a striker who will be out for who knows how long when we need him desperate RIGHT NOW just feels silly.

Give me Zaha.

Zaha, Sterling, Broja front three.
