Ashley Cole

Losing Cole would not be so much of a blow now than it would have been in 2010.

I totally agree, he's nearing the end of his career anyways. Problem is, it's extremely hard to find a decent fullback now a days if the bertrand/PVA bet doesn't work out.

He'll stay with us for a few more years while PVA and Bertrand get a run. I do hope to see one of them become our new standard left back, but If we decide to go for a new player I'd like us to go for Baines.

Agree with the posts above, Cole is in decline. He's still class though.

Barcelona apparently want Cole as well:

(Yes I do realize that those aren't the most reliable of sources)

With all these rumors, anyone knows how long has cole got left on his contract.

Ashley Cole to commit his future to Chelsea

Ashley Cole will extend his Chelsea contract by two years, ending speculation he will quit Stamford Bridge and move abroad.

Interest in the 30-year-old England defender has come from Barcelona and mega-rich Russians Anzhi Makhachkala, who could offer him £200,000 a week.

That's really great news. Watching the game vs Everton, I was absolutely amazed by his stamina and ability to keep making runs down the whole length of the wing for the entire game. Coleman rarely left his own half. It would've been near impossible finding a LB as good as him.

Is he a legend though? I love Ashley and consider him to be one of the best LBs of all-time, but I'm not sure he's a Chelsea legend. Maybe after a few more years, he's only been here for four or five.

For me, it's not about time spent at a club but the effort and commitment to give absolutely everything he got in every game for the club and the love of the shirt that drives him to create magical moments to celebrate with fans. After all Zola only came to us practically at the end of his career (age 30 if I'm not mistaken).
