BlueLion. 21,491
Saturday, 29 November 2008 After missing the last few games, Alex looks set to return to the Chelsea defence in place of Branislav Ivanovic. Joe Cole is struggling with an ankle injury and may not be risked against Arsenal, and Juliano Belletti, Franco di Santo and Ricardo Carvalho are all definitely out. Michael Essien is still a long-term absentee.
Aesthetic Relic 301
Has Riccy taken another knock? He was due to be back playing by the 22nd November.
Elliott 7
So right now we only have Anelka as a forward, with Kalou and Sinclair as players able to play there in theory.

I don't think he has, but the estimated return on PhysioRoom can be a couple of weeks out sometimes.

BlueLion. 21,491
2nd Jan 09 Chelsea are likely to be without defender Alex and winger Florent Malouda as they get their cup campaign under way. Both players suffered hamstring injuries in the 2-2 draw with Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday and are very doubtful. Michael Essien is still sidelined with a knee ligament problem but Ricardo Carvalho is fit again following an eight-week spell out with knee and hamstring injuries. Michael Ballack is suspended after collecting five yellow cards and club captain John Terry sits out the final game of a three-match ban.
