mindboggling.

Cant believe we are about to throw everything away we worked so hard for this season in a matter of weeks. you just don't start your 2nd gk in a final. no question about it. Everyone will be super nervous bc of this.

He did job against best team on planet in semi final. So this is easier on paper. And why are you all surprised, it was clear from day one Kepa will play all games in FA Cup.

Our chances of winning the final are slim then.

called it. TT threw away the final with his stupid selection. NOt that Kepa was particularly at fault but in finals you need a keeper who is capable of the extraordinary and we already knew before that Kepa is not. So why even bother.

Well done Cup GK.

One can only imagine there was also club politics involved.

Mendy would have saved that goal, IMO, but one thing I'd say though is if we had actually performed, it would have made Kepa starting redundant, just like against City in the semi-final.

sure, but single elimination games are often decided in a small detail, an action/inaction here and there. We reduced our chances of overcoming an insipid performance by starting Kepa. in hindsight, we did have an insipid performance, and Kepa did not deliver the great save we needed (the opposition goalie did).

Funny thing is, City played their cup keeper Zack Steffen in both domestic cups. It cost them against us in the FA Cup semi-final but didn't matter against Spurs in the League Cup final.

That being said, don't get me wrong, I wouldn't have started Kepa at all. Am just pointing out the circumstances that may have played a part in his selection, on top of him being a cup keeper.

"being a cup keeper" sure, which is about value/money after all. Hard to get rid of him if no other club (he'd like to play for) wants him.

That we will be paying his wages for a long while is a sure thing. What remains to be seen is if we can get him out of the club (and contention), and as a plus, have some of his wages covered.

Kepa looked like a huge mistake by the time he signed and turned out even worse than feared.

The question is, is Marina willing to give in and just loan Kepa out as well as cover the wages (full or part)? If she is, am sure there might be some takers in Spain.

Mourinho is linked with him and DDG.

Tielemans thought "fck it, its kepa"

Yup good point. opposition players are encouraged when seeing kepa on goal. It’s not the first long range shot he does not go near.

folks who are saying we’ve been harsh on him are missing that this is hardly the first time.

Had benzema scored that goal in the 25th minute and nobody would’ve blamed Mendy, it would’ve been unsavable… but he saved it.
