It's laughable really that we play 5 defenders against weaker opponents. Not once have we started with a back 4 since the change to 3-4-3 last season. That's just lack of courage, fear and mental weakness.

We simply have too many players who are bang average. Some due to age and some just due to ability. Alonso, Moses, Cahill, Pedro, and sadly Cesc. None of these players should be starting every week. If Alonso and Moses are starting for us next season expect more of the same. They both have too many limitations for a side with our ambitions. Cesc is the perfect super sub but is like carrying a passenger in any big game or when he's out of form like he is now.

A few key signings in important areas (or maybe just replacing current starters with some already at the club) and the right manager and we can bounce back next season. A steady, class partner for Kante and our fullbacks sorted and we are a totally different side.

Good managers tweak the system if needed, not persist with the same set up when its clear its not doing the required job, If we had the proper quality players for the system then fine (which Conte wanted to get), but this season has exposed some players, it might have worked last season when we caught everyone by surprise, and also the players had the right attitude, commitment and desire, including the manager, but still its no excuse for these poor showings this season. We've seen this in 15/16 , and the sad truth is as much stubborn the manager is, the players aren't doing themselves any favours, its classless and it clearly shows too much player power, no manager can work under these conditions and it pains to see the club in this current predictament.

The worst thing is when Conte will be sacked Allegri will come to replace him, with their same defense first policy. It's just so annoying to watch, it's like appointing Mourinho after Mourinho, who'll play the same shit tactics and make the team win while making the players  lose all their qualities, so when they need a response they roam like headless chickens because they have long forgotten what it's like to be an attacking side. I'm ready for another season without trophies just get this shit mentality out of this club.
