Read this on Twitter: "Love that CFC fans still have so much love for Sheva. Dare I say that many other fans wouldn't treat a player the same...?"

Even when ignoring the last part, this feels so true. The support we gave Torres was huge, and it's nice to see how he felt that too. A prime example of how this club is much more than rival fans make it out to be.

Don't think he was THAT bad for us, only was considered a flop due to the price tag IMO.

Having said that before his long lay off in Avram's season he was starting to look the part then his return at the end of the season he looked impressive too, why on earth was he not brought on in extra time in Moscow and Anelka was? Sheva's CL final experience could have been invaluable.

Given he was starting to show signs off his old self, i believe Scolari should have given him a chance, i still to this day think he would have been a hit if we gave him 08/09.

He surely would have had a better attitude to a sudden death penalty than Anelka's lazy fucking approach... He'd of buried his for sure.

Sheva was involved in a car crash not long after the Sweden game. Thankfully he & his pregnant girlfriend walked away unhurt. He even stopped to sign autographs afterwards... What a man.

Shevchenko is said to be interested in pursuing a coaching career after he retires, and according to reports in Ukraine, he will be offered a role working with the Chelsea youth team, along with some scouting duties in Eastern Europe.
