We cant just strip the colors off his back and excile them lol

Other clubs need to want them

And not just that - they need to be able to afford them.

Valencia wanted us to pay some of Baks wages ffs!

We aver pay for them PLUS we over pay them!

The drinkwater transfer has to be one of the worst transfers of all time from our board. Bakayoko I can understand he fooled everyone in that successful Monaco team and no one thought he would be such a flop.  But DD everyone and their grandmother knew he was a donkey and wasn't good enough for Chelsea.

These clubs that think they can sign 30-40m rated players on loan and not even have to pay the wages either lol, I know Bakayoko has been shocking this season but any team that wants his services should be paying his wages, if they want to be cheap we can loan them Josimar Quintero instead

When DD signed for us, most of us were soo head spun from the mediocrity that was being linked to our club that we actually accepted and conviced ourselves that DD was a decent signing. Then we soon realised that a signing like DD is just unacceptable at this level, plain and simple.

The only complaint from me for this transfer window is that we still have this dead meat in the team. No disrespect but DD is simply Championship level, quite frankly completely useless to our team and we’re paying him big salary.

He’s basically a worse version of Sidwell.

Not really bud.

ON PAPER and without the gift of foresight  we (the board) looked at waterboy and figured we would make a perfect partner for the wee baldy man. As they worked so well together when they won the league (with our help)

But what they didn't figure was that was a freak year. Similar situation with us getting Baks.

Sell them both (if Baka isn't moved to a La Liga or Serie A or Bundesliga or Ligue 1 club) to China, surely the richer clubs there will at least give decent money for them and pay their wages. Drinkwater would be a big draw, as it is rare for a Brit player in his prime (cough, cough) to travel that far abroad.

This has to be our worst ever signing considering the fee, wages and talent that we gave up to have him play 5 games last season and not even make the Europa League squad. Why we just didnt keep Nate Chalobah I do not know. I know we needed some English players in the squad but we could have just bought an English keeper or a promising young English player. To be fair if I was in his position I would also stick around, for the reported 120k a week he wont get half of that anywhere else so why leave?

Which talent did we give up to allow him to play 5 games?

Nate Chalobah and Loftus Cheek last season. Loftus Cheek is back and developed well but we sold Nate for $5mill and bought DD for $35/40 mill depending on who you believe. Nate is better than DD and if we had kept him and played him we would have been better off in the long run imo.

Chalobah while a top guy is a bang average player, even more so than Drinkwater, he couldn't get a look in at Napoli or even Burnley, if he was owned by another club and we signed him people on here would call him the new Papy. As for Ruben, Drinkwater is totally irrelevant to any discussion with him, they were fighting for different positions under Conte and the same is true under Sarri.

My main point is we didnt need to go spend 40 million on a bang average player like DD. Could have scouted an upcoming young English player. Andy Robertson and Harry Maguire were all bought for less than 15 million the same summer we bought DD for 40 million. We all know the main reason we bought DD is because he is English/home grown something we could have done a better job of. Now we have a 28 year old expensive flop who we will have a hard time offloading.
