If he can't score in this offence,  he can't play in the EPL. It's tailor-made for a striker to bag 30 goals. Look at Sarri's past teams. What a disappointment Morata has been.

Scratching my head how Morata became a big name like this in the first place. That one season in Juve. He wasn't even the main man for the team. Sure, we saw huge potential. But that's it. He was ridiculously overhyped looking back.

Torres, at least he had history. Scored the winner in Euro 2008 final for Spain. Liverpool and Spain's deadly, main striker back in the day. What has Morata actually done bar doing flicks and tricks in Juve's winning season?!

Good goal helped by Arsenal's ridiculous, naive defending in the first half. No sensible PL team would defend like that, unless they have quality defenders to take risks (which Arsenal lack).

I think he's become a big name because he had the potential to be good and was available.  Top teams have top strikers and top teams don't let their players leave.  Especially their 30 goals a year strikers.  So, if you need one, you have to pick from the rest (if you consider yourself to be a top team).

So make a list of the sure thing strikers, the ones we know would do better than morata right off the box... now consider that if, and it is already a big if, they are available, we still need to convince them to join us.

Say he plays for another top team. Does well, hence why we are after him, why would he want to leave and chase what he has already accomplished? Answer has to be prestige and/ or, of course, (a lot) more money. 

So, even though I wouldn’t rate our scouts anywhere near top10, after all they thought bakayoko was a footballer, they have probably been trying very hard to get a proper replacement for the solid #9 we had (and quit).

personally I don’t think our scouts know a whole lot in South America, esp Brazil and Argentina. Even though the current crop of strikers is a bit weak, the next big one is always around the corner. The only ever good prospect from SA was Oscar and that did not quite work (got the invest money back tho).

If he scores 3 tonight, he is supposed to according to all on here. 

If he doesn't score at all but has this mystic "Giroud" game where he doesn't score, he is even more of a failure. 

 

Only Giroud can not score and it be okay. Morata has to score. And even when he scores, Giroud is better.

Costa wouldn't be down in the pecking order to play PAOK, he would of been rested, but that says more about Morata as player and his form than it does Costa.

Diego also went many weeks without scoring and I recall many on here jumping down his throat.

Wouldnt it be great to have hust 1 striker who kept his form. He doesn't have to be a 40 goal machine but 1 every 2 games with some assists chucked in would come in handy.

He did have a baron spell but his work rate was always top class, he did so much donkey work. If Morata isn't scoring he offers nothing, right now he's hardly scoring so he's offering zero.

This isn't new but I think he's absolute shite.

I just hope our lovely board realize the shit we are in striker wise and have been getting in players heads telling them how much we need them.

I know its going to be nigh on impossible to get anyone decent in the Jan sales but at least they can be doing all the ground work.

Whatever happens this match shows how much we need a goal scorer. I dont give a fuck he is, where hes from,the team hes in or his price.
