CM: €35m Chelsea midfielder ‘dreams’ of Milan return – attempt was made in January

https://sempremilan.com/cm-e35m-chelsea-midfielder-dreams-of-milan-return-attempt-was-made-in-january

AC Milan discussed the possibility of bringing midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko back during the January transfer window, a report claims.

Bakayoko joined Milan on a season-long loan in summer 2018 and won over the heart of Gennaro Gattuso and the support of the fans after a difficult start.

However, Gattuso’s departure meant that Milan did not use their €35million option to buy the Frenchman from Chelsea and instead he moved back to former club Monaco, again on a season long loan.

Rumours of a potential return to Milan have never been far away, and according to Calciomercato.com it was something that was actually discussed.

The outlet claims that Bakayoko’s dream is to return to the San Siro and play for the Rossoneri again, as you could gauge from the multiple interviews in which he has expressed his love for the club.

In January, Maldini and Boban had talked to Monaco and Chelsea about the possibility of bringing the 25-year-old back, but failure to sell Franck Kessie means they were unable to fund the deal.

The future prospects regarding a reunion do not look good though. If Ralf Rangnick takes over as head coach and sporting director he is unlikely to pursue Bakayoko due to his cost, and he is more likely to bring in players from his own wish list.

Chelsea want €42m for midfielder – Club’s director makes ‘first approach’

http://sportwitness.co.uk/chelsea-want-e42m-midfielder-leave-clubs-director-makes-first-approach/

Earlier this month, Le10 Sport revealed that Leonardo was interested in Chelsea’s Tiemoué Bakayoko.

Looking for new midfielders, the Paris Saint-Germain technical director turned his attention to a player he already knew from his time in Milan, having brought him in on loan during his time there.

The defensive midfielder has spent the 2019-20 season on loan at AS Monaco, and while there was an option to buy the player at €42m, it appears the principality side will not be triggering it.

This is what RMC Sport journalist Loïc Tanzi is reporting on Tuesday afternoon, adding that ‘there has been a first approach’ from Leonardo for Bakayoko, even if the whole affair ‘doesn’t seem to advanced’.

This backs up the information gathered by Le10 Sport a couple of weeks ago, as Tanzi also adds the player’s profile is indeed appreciated at Paris Saint-Germain.

However, for any club who want the defensive midfielder in their squad next season on a permanent basis, they will have to cough up a lot of money.

Tanzi added that Chelsea want ‘no less’ than the €42m from the Monaco purchase clause if he is to be sold.

Whether there are clubs out there willing to pay that for him, however, remains to be seen.

Mercato: After PSG, Sevilla FC also targets Tiémoué Bakayoko, on loan from Chelsea to Monaco

Like PSG, Sevilla FC is interested in Tiémoué Bakayoko, the French international midfielder loaned to AS Monaco this season by Chelsea.

https://www.francefootball.fr/news/Mercato-apres-le-psg-le-fc-seville-cible-aussi-tiemoue-bakayoko-prete-par-chelsea-a-monaco/1131517

Back in the saddle by Leonardo Jardim, Tiémoué Bakayoko has found playing time within the ASM. But as for Slimani or Adrien Silva, we should not see him again in the jersey of the Principality club. In fact, Oleg Petrov has not activated his call option set at € 42 million. Aged 25, the French international is most likely on the market unless Frank Lampard wishes to relaunch it with the Blues. Unlikely ...

At PSG, he is one of the credible tracks with Wilfried Ndid i and Thomas Partey. The capital club seeks to strengthen itself in the midfield with an impact player capable of recovering and projecting itself. Contacts have taken place between Leonardo and the different parties. But in the event of progress by PSG, it will especially be necessary to find a solution with Chelsea where the player is still under contract until June 2022. As a reminder, the sports director of PSG knows the dossier perfectly since he had brought the player at AC Milan during the 2018-2019 season.

Sevilla FC took information

After Ligue 1, Premier League and Serie A, the 25-year-old could also discover a new Championship. Sevilla FC are particularly interested in the profile of the former Rennes player. The Andalusian club has taken information and could speed up on this issue in the coming weeks if they qualify for the Champions League. After 27 days played, the White and Red are currently third in Liga.

We need to lower our asking price. Whos gonna be daft enough to pay 42m euros for him? PSG linked with Partley and Ndidi, both superior players to Baka, who okay they may cost slightly more but would be well worth it in terms of value for money. Specially Partley who has a 50m euros clause and really is a top midfielder.

This is right thing to do. But even for 20m I am not sure someone will buy.

Also Michy has just one year left on contract. Selling him for 20m this summer would be art.
