Tomlewis7 0
Yes but he's keeping all this suspense so he can get more money while he does it. Then as soon as he's getting the same as Lampard it'll be "Well i was always going to stay".... I know he's staying, my brothers girlfriends mum knows him personally and he called the media a bunch of wankers. Can we get an official qoute from the mum then??? Like Micheal Ballack, she can become his spokesperson.

the wes 7,212
Chelsea are set to report Manchester City boss Mark Hughes to the Premier League for 'tapping up' John Terry. The Blues are furious that Hughes openly spoke about his pursuit of the England skipper - even spelling out why Terry should sign on at Eastlands. JT, who will be offered a new £150,000-a- week deal to convince him to stay at Stamford Bridge, has been the subject of two City bids. Chelsea say Terry will snub City's advances and confirm his future is at Stamford Bridge very shortly. But the Blues are still considering reporting the Eastlands club. A source said: "The way Hughes has openly talked about wanting Terry to sign for him is totally out of order. "Other teams have been punished for a lot less - so Hughes could find himself in a lot of trouble." While Chelsea chiefs appear confident their captain will stay, Terry is still torn between staying and joining Mark Hughes. It is understood that the defender is not interested in the money but is far more concerned by the direction the club are taking. Chelsea have failed to capture a number of big-name signings this summer - including Spanish hitman David Villa and French midfielder Franck Ribery - and only this week pulled out of a deal for Arsenal strike star Emmanuel Adebayor. Terry earns £125,000 a week - around £10,000 less than England team-mate Frank Lampard - but will become the club's top earner if he decides to accept the package. BlueLion. 21,491
I'm surprised this hasn't been suggested before, to be honest. It is ridiculous how public Hughes has become over the situation.

the wes 7,212
The Manchester City manager Mark Hughes has repeated his admiration for Chelsea's John Terry, following reports that the London club are ready to lodge a complaint to the Premier League over City's pursuit of their club captain. "It's well documented that we put in a bid and that was rejected," Hughes told the BBC. "He's a player I know, I played alongside him at Chelsea and I admire him as a person and captain from afar. He's obviously the type and calibre of player we need if we are going to progress and compete at the top level. "Chelsea have come out very strongly, in no uncertain terms, saying that he's not available, so we have to reflect that position because John is very much a Chelsea player. But we need to address the defensive strength of our side and we'll look at all options." City have already completed deals for Emmanuel Adebayor, Carlos Tevez, Roque Santa Cruz and Gareth Barry but Terry has been identified as Hughes' main target and an offer of around £30m was recently turned down. The Premier League confirmed today that no official complaint has been submitted yet. Under Section K of the Premier League Handbook, club officials are not permitted to express interest in a player unless they have been given written consent by their current employers to open negotiations. If that has not been forthcoming, the player's current club could claim an indirect – and illegal – approach. Chelsea would first need to make an official complaint, supported by a dossier of evidence, if the Premier League are to investigate City's conduct. Hughes, who also confirmed his interest in Everton centre-back Joleon Lescott, claimed City would back off if Chelsea continue to rebuff their approaches. "If we come to a point where we feel there's no chance of a transfer progressing then we move away from that," he said. "We have other options and there may come a point where we concede – but I don't think we are at that point as yet." Hughes also revealed that plans to fly Micah Richards out to South Africa to join City's pre-season tour had been scrapped, with the defender instead remaining in Manchester to continue his recovery from swine flu. Milan 17,957
Chelsea claim captain Terry is set to release statement on Manchester City rumours dailymail John Terry is expected to release a statement in the which will make his future clear, with the Chelsea captain a subject of two bids from Manchester City. Until now, the 28-year-old England captain has been taciturn about where he will play next year, with speculation gathering steam that he may become the latest big-money signing to join Eastlands. Chelsea insiders are confident that Terry will remain at Stamford Bridge, with reports claiming poor relations between player and club said to be over exaggerated. The club are also reported to be considering rewarding Terry’s loyalty by raising his wages to £150,000-a-week in a further attempt to persuade him to snub City who are likely to up their current bid for the player from £30m to £40m. City boss Mark Hughes has spoken about his desire to sign Terry and comments suggesting the defender needs a new challenge have angered Chelsea. The club have considered reporting Hughes to the Premier League for what could be interpreted as an illegal approach although no official complaint has yet been made.
